You mean you haven't been! I leave a few in the accessible safe for "inquiring visitors", at least one real handy for unwanted visitors and no one will ever find my SHTF others when the need arises. 'Nuf said. Mine have been out of touch since the Brady bill and 1968.
The bad part is that the quest for "Universal Backround Checks" still has a lot of momentum and some public support despite the absurdity of the very concept, and the implications for the future.

So we have Biden telling us to take a double barrel shot gun and blow both rounds off as warning shots leaving yourself unarmed, and a school in Colorado telling us to simply pee in our pants. It's hard to decide which is worse advise. It is scary to consider that one is involved in our nations security and the other is involved in educating our children. I can't help but think we are scrooooowed!

Sorry for the copy/paste, but --- “Participating in a gun buyback because you believe that the criminals have too many guns is like having yourself castrated because you believe that the neighbors have too many kids.”

How could they possibly envision the "killing power" of modern firearms?
I assure you that the 2/3 inch diameter pieces of metal that the Founding Fathers used does just as good a job as the 1/4 inch ones our fathers and we use. A century after the country was founded we had machine guns. Now we have laser guided drone missiles, and cyber attacks.
The guns the people had in 1776 were exactly the same as military weapons. Kilt ya ded.
Ditto, 1946. 1955. 1973. etc.
Other than the material the handle is made out of no major change in firearms has taken place in a century. We's been responsible enough to have the same weapons at home as at war for over 200 years.
Yes, we require a permit to have a machine gun. Seems reasonable to me. I'd say you should have to have a permit for a bazooka, rpg, or guided missile, too. I would never ban these things, that's silly. The existing system for keeping dangerous to the crowd weapons in check works fine. AFAIK no one's been killed by a licensed weapon in that category.
This Gun Grab has nothing to do with facts or reason.
Where, how, and what the handles are made of on a gun are cosmetic and arbitrary. Having a forward vertical grip, a thumbhole stock, or a pistol grip have nothing to do with the lethality of the weapon.
In freaking fact, NONE of this has anything to do with how dead you get when shot with one.
This one doesn't look like it's for hunting.
1. what does Hunting have to do with anything? 2. That's freaking perfect for Turkey.
BTW, that top pic of a double shotgun with the light? Optimum for home defense or hunting. Remove the light as needed for hunting laws, or use an IR filter for hog where night hunting is legal. The red dot is SOP on turkey and deer guns.
Now, me, I'm a wimp. Give me a gas operated semi to soak up the recoil of a heavy-shot turkey load fired from sitting against a tree.
Serious about the turkey hunting use for that shotgun though. Right after I posted that, I got my e-mail from Macks Prairie Wings. Bird hunter company, lots of great stuff, like giant goose decoy/blinds you hide in while they decide to land in range or not.
The E-mail was the "turkey hunting specials" and the red dot sight in the ad was the exact model in the picture above.
Sifo, I was just logging on to post-up this vid. Muchas gracias to you and Ducbsa for watching our six.
My God, what I wouldn't give to have a man (or woman) of Bill Whittle's courage, conviction, patriotism and sense of duty and honor at the helm of our great nation, a la George Washington, or Ronald Reagan, or Allen West, someone who actually MEANT it when they placed their hand on the Holy Bible and swore an oath to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.
I've used the Knox recoil reducing stock on a Remington 870, and it cuts 12 ga. buck recoil down to 20 ga. levels, with some notable cheek slap. It needed the side mount ammo you've got to be complete. Also, a quirk of the Knox stock is the fore end/light on the pump gun above would slap your hand as the gun recoils over a 1/4 inch. No big deal with a normal fore end, but painful with others. It's an imperfect, but clever way to reduce recoil. Not pretty, mind you. But works.
The Semi below is nigh perfect. How do you like the stock? The 2 fiber optic "beads"? Would you prefer a ghost ring rear sight?
( All personal preference items.)
The long argument over semi vs. pump is obsolete IMHO. The odds on a Winchester/Browning or Remington semi malfing is about the same as you, the operator, short stroking and jamming a pump. Some would complain that most semi's can't use a pistol grip in a cruiser config, and that's true, but since I can't hit the narrow side of a barn with a cruiser, I don't care.
Speaking of shotguns....
First, you ignorant grinning fool.
Shotguns are NOT easier to shoot and the AR kicks a lot less. A slightly built man or woman is far better off with an AR at all ranges. Also some people are recoil sensitive because of medication, injury or handicap, and a 12 ga double is a very poor choice for them. ( if you are on Plavix & Coumadin, it's likely you would bleed all over the place if you shot a 12 ga. double with a metal or wood butt. )
Second, it's common for home invasions to have 4 or more intruders. Your poor wife with her empty 2 shot weapon is in dire trouble. Does she need 30 rounds? I dunno, how good a shot is she? how many bad guys are there? Where are the machine gun and sniper rifles equipped Secret Service folk looking after her?
THEY have 30 round magazines to protect your sorry grinning lying ass. What do THEY know you don't and lie about?
Third, and most important. You, the Vice President of the United States, actually advocate firing a gun blindly into the void to scare people?
That's in violation of so many safety rules and laws that you should be sued out of office & home, and into the ghetto where the criminals, I must point out, have no intention of obeying the gun grab.
In fact they are all for it. makes them more powerful.
I like the shot gun, but it is not the only fire arm solution to pare down to, really there should be at minimal 3 guns you have Long Rifle Shot gun and a personal pack pistol rotate them out as your situation changes rotate them out as you change your tastes rotate them out just for damn fun
