Today marks 5 months the day I went in for my transplants! All I can say is thanks to my wife and kids for the never ending love and support. I have never been in better shape physically, and the future is full of endless possibilities. My heart will always go out to the family that had to loose so much for me to gain life...I vow to try to touch and make a difference in the people I come in contact with, and pray they could just look-beyond the daily nonsense and see the world as I do..We must all live the moment we are in..Nothing before or after matters.

Having slipped by the Grim Reaper's grasp a time or two myself, I'm with you wholeheartedly. Enjoy life, it's the best drug going, live life to the full there may be no tomorrow. Life is fragile & can be gone in the blink of an eye, so appreciate what you have. Let your those you care for know it, & those you love know that they are loved. It's too late when you're gone. Damn I hate sounding preachy, I'm not religious & believe that this here's probably just a one shot deal, so make the most of it. |

Thanks for posting that! My buddy Skeeter Todd has had a liver transplant for many years now (13? 14?) and is living large. He is the one that originally built the turbo'd RS that is on my profile. bike is now with new owner in Texas. I've been signed up as a donor for as many years, probably much longer, though I'm thinking most of the parts are too worn and skungy to be of much use. But if something happens and I no longer occupy this 2 legged 'vehicle', hopefully someone can use the leftover stuff. If anyone on this board reads this thread and is on the fence about becoming a donor, read Brian's post again and tell me it's not totally worth it! Sign up! NOW! |
