I've never been a fan of red cars, they just seem to scream "look at me!". However, if you found that perfect used truck(right price, right miles, like new condition) would you get it despite being fire engine red? |

Dodge Lil' Red Wagon. What's not to like? As an aside, I saw a late model 4dr Dodge Ram today entirely covered in Black Leather. I presume it's not real leather but the effect was sharp with all the stitching. Bet it's a bitch to clean though. |

Easy to find in the parking lot & less likely to be stolen. |

odd thing about red cars & trucks. Red is just as hard to see at night as black. But, yeah, I'd buy a red truck. The 'Lil Red Express ( or it's Black brother, the Warlock ) is a very desirable toy. Practical, and once the fastest car in America. |

From an "arrest me red" point of view, that truck is nowhere near as likely to get gratuitous pull overs as a 'vette or Camaro. Still, you'll get stopped more often than a silver one. I suggest not getting brass testicles to hang off the hitch. ( I like the extra brake light hitch plugs ) |

Love my red Z71. Didn't target the color, but it was sitting on the lot awhile and I obtained a screaming deal. Better than lame grey or silver though, those things are all over the place. I've never been pulled over once in eight years of ownership....so much for the ticket magnet thing.... If you like the deal, go for it. |

I prefer silver or gray trucks. I *use* my trucks. Silver and gray take much longer to look dirty. They also hide scratches better. My (207,000 miles at the time) '01 diesel, pulling my red 89 Shelby CSX #135 of 500 built, 1 of 15 2-option cars:
And another moving-day shot. M2 and S1 in the bed (S1 has CR mirrors on it), and the first car I ever bought brand new - my 91 Daytona CS Competition Package turbo, one of 150 produced, 1 of 26 with this color combo, 74k original, one-owner miles. Truck was around 209k at that point. Currently in the garage with 214k, still looking sharp in silver

I currently drive a red truck. I bought it used. don't like the color but I sit inside it so I don't see it that much. I buy used all the time & I look at how good the vehicle is mechanically before I look at the color. If there were two identical trucks I would not buy the red one. I know they are not really visible at night but they come with lights & everything so that's not a worry to me. (I ride a black Uly) Chris C |

Bought a red truck because there were no yellow ones available. |

Joe, I presume that's a 2500 Ram with a 24v Cummins. What mileage are you getting? Late this year or early next (after the move) I'll be looking for a clean '92/93 D250 Club cab. I prefer the pre RAM shape & the easier under hood access. |

Yep, 2001 2500 with the 24v HO Cummins, 4x4, and 6 speed stick. 4.10 gears. Drove to FL and back for Christmas to visit family. Cruise on 75mph, 2100 RPM or so, hand calculated against the GPS miles, it got me 22mpg round trip. Towing as you see in the pics above, I'm getting 16-18 in the mountains with a car on the trailer. The earlier trucks have the 12v - more economy, less power/torque. If you go with an early one, make sure it's intercooled. And look VERY closely for rust. Trick I learned years ago - couple times a year, I remove the taillights and hose off the inside-top of the rear fenderwells. Keeps stuff from accumulating there, and starting rust. |

The 12v has more than enough power & torque for my needs, as towing weights are much lower here. I just want another Dodge that I can use every day & fettle myself. |
