What the hell is there to do in Pullman Washington? Any cool things to check out in the area?

I'll be going there in a few weeks for a business trip and just wondering if there's any neat things to check out in the area?

I'll be headed to Austin, TX the following week. : )

Not much, unless you have a penchant for farming. You could tour the state prison in Walla Walla. Or buy an onion.

My aunt lives in Moscow, just across the border in Idaho. I've driven through Pullman. There's not much there.

Austin, on the other hand...music, a couple of breweries, pretty good roads up in the hills.

It is a college town though, so there's likely to be a few decent bars.

Home of WSU - and not much else.
There might be some snow in the Palouse, other than that - the 'fun' migration usually landed in Moscow

Kind of what I thought, didn't look like a big place with a lot to do.

Any skiing in the area?

Cascades to the West. Following the major east-west freeway (I90) will take you to Snoqualmie pass, where there are, I believe, four ski areas. It's about 4 hours away. Sun Valley ID is 8 hours away. Not exactly a day trip. Not if you intend to beat the crap our of yourself skiing all day. The drive home would suck.

Get in touch with the "Hellbuellies" before you go to Austin.
Buellerthanyou on here, aka (Jay Howze) is a very very nice guy & will put you straight on Buelling activities.

Broken Spoke & Continental Club are must go's if you like live music, plus various other venues.

I have many fond memories of my visits to Austin, need to do it again soon.
