Saw this trolling the Fb page - sounds like pure rumor, and bad photo shop. But it is winter and it beats discussing what the f Barry is up to today. http://www.latestbikesnews.com/motorcycle-news-201 3-latest-500-cm3-at-harley-davidson/ |

Seems silly to me not to use the Blast. I mean it's got to be one of the lowest cost production bikes in America. All the tooling has been paid for years and years ago. All they'd really have to do is the plastic work, that'd be pretty easy for H-D I'd think. They need something for Rider's Edge, the Blast pool has got to be getting shallow, and I don't see them using 883s for the course. It's a proven platform and a very sturdy, reliable motorcycle. Also I'm sure Mac Motorcycles would like to see the Blast come back http://www.mac-motorcycles.com |

From HD: "This bike has two strategic interests: allow the brand to better penetrate the Indian market and fill the void left by the Buell Blast with beginners in North America" Too little, too late to "penetrate the Indian market", EBR already has a contract with them to produce "their" bikes of the future. I have always liked big singles and the XR styling so I do like this and at my age maybe I really should gravitate toward something smaller, but..........Naaa, I'll just ride the 1125R into the twilight. |

LOL I was reading Indian and thinking Indian Motorcycles, and wondering what I missed! LOL I doubt if it's too late really, in India there's no shortage of small displacement bike manufacturers, Hero is the biggest of course, just not the only one. H-D has something no one else has, the Bar and Shield carry a lot of weight (literally and figuratively ) so them selling bikes over there would be as easy as here I'd imagine. I like the look of the photoshopped bike. |

My sentiments pretty much mirror Glitch's last post, though I also prefer the Honda 500 - and more specifically the ADV or naked variants as opposed to the sport bike. |

WOW only three years to redecorate the blast! Notice it happened after Willie G left Neither statement is really all that true... In 2001 H-D brought a 'Harley-ized' prototype based off the Blast! powertrain to Buell. The thing was UGLY as sin. Everything that was light and engineered on the Blast! was replaced with heavy and stylized - i.e. 'Harley-ized'. That 'rumor' bike is not too far off, however. The fuel tank flatter and uglier, the chrome pipe was shinier, the tail section was a more conventional H-D style rear fender with a more conventional H-D style seat and the wheels were much heavier than the Blast! wheels. Saying that it looked like a baby, baby Sportster would've been too much of a compliment. I'm kind of surprised they haven't done anything with it yet... Perhaps the price of the powertrain is just a LOT more than they budgeted for... 1313 |

Ah, the all (well nearly all) new 500 LUG series, this is the launch model with it's fresh modern styling, the FK1N5LUG. Soon to be available in even newer original black, to be known as the BAD5LUG.
