550 pounds and 160 MPH isn't exactly going to get you on the podium. I don't understand how they can call it a superbike. They should be calling it a sport bike, because it definitely is that.

Sure looks fun to ride.

Interesting that the bike will not be offered for sale. I can understand that there's likely more money to be made applying the emerging technology to other markets, especially given the current economy.
Jay should seriously consider some other helmet. That Arai does not fit his head (chin).

I got to pilot that bike at the drag strip here at Infineon. We had helped with the bike on the dyno and they knew I had plenty of experience on the track. It was fun as all get out. Bike ran a best of 10.49 at 125 mph.Set a record for their class! Got the You Tube video on the shop computer.

This was exactly what I meant in our discussion several years ago and it's happening!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Locomotive power harnessed to a chasis under 500lbs without batteries. They will get lighter and lighter and last longer and longer this is exciting.

I hope the brake lights come on during regen though as I wouldn't want to get smacked in the arse by some fat mom on a cell phone texting while shes driving as the bike slows much quicker I am guessing.

I'm with you Brum, this one may not be built for the masses, but, it's proof it can be done, and done well
