I would like everyones opinion on just what has caused all this commotion and I'm not just talking about the "proposed" new gun regulations. We have many more things to be concerned about also, not the least of which is getting people back to work, the economy and health care. Caution, this thread could turn very political. As stated: keep your powder dry and keep a low profile, especially when answering. I put the total blame on just one person................ |

For me, the willfully corrupt media is number 1. They're nothing but propagandists. Without that corruption, things might be a lot different. |

Here's how I see it. You have a government that has become oppressive to self reliance and success, while sending in unsustainable ways. Some people have a real fear that this will end badly and have responded by doing what they can to prepare for this future. The government is responding to this by becoming yet more oppressive and demonstrating zero fiscal responsibility. It's a spiraling cycle. Add a tragic killing at a school that is being used as an excuse to make a big oppressive move against those who are already preparing for the possibility of civil war and you get a big push in the escalation of that same spiral. There are three possible outcomes. 1) The people bow the the oppression. 2) The government bows to the people who refuse to be oppressed. 3) Civil war. Personally I don't see any willingness to stop the escalation. I listened to Dick Durban being interviewed on the radio last night, and he has no intention of backing down at all. I think it's clear that BO is just getting started with four more years to shape America in his view of what it should be. Who sees an option I didn't suggest? Which option are we heading toward? |

Sifo, I pretty much agree, but I see option 1 (modified) as the most likely (unfortunately): the people don't bow to the oppression, they are just slowly, almost imperceptibly bent over, until they wake up and see they have "bowed." It's kind of the "death by 1000 papercuts" notion, or the boiling frog analogy. Look around you in your daily life; do you really see any significant amount of recognition and/or awareness of just how wrong things are, of just how far we have gone? A dangerous man is someone who FEELS they have nothing left to lose. If a man is already stripped of everything, then he is helpless. |

Will the military turn on "us"? Depends. If you're an enemy of the constitution, I'd say the answer is yes. My oath to defend the constitution against all enemies foreign and domestic didn't become invalid when I was discharged, so I will be on their side. |

Pretty good speech just now at a news conference by Wayne LaPiere, NRA spokesman, with many good common sense approaches to the school shooting that already, within minutes, has been denounced by the Democrats. It will be interesting what ramifications his speech will have on the nation, but I predict more divisiveness in this country. Yet another bad thing happening for the last bunch of years. We really need to come together as a nation to solve the many problems we're having. I do not want to see another civil war that would kill ALL Americans like it did the first time. Semper Fi. I also took the oath many are trying to divide us on again. I will never dedicate my oath to a corrupt person, no matter who they are, only to MY country and the people of it. |

For me the corrupt media is just a symptom of the bigger problem. Obama, big banking, big pharma, big agra, the war machine, the compliant media, the U.N. are all puppets of a bigger driving force seeking to impose their agenda on the human race worldwide. Their biggest stumbling block now is an armed American citizenry but, give them time... they're working on that problem. (Message edited by jb2 on December 21, 2012) |
