First who wants to punch Jesse James in the face for saying no one has built an American made sport bike. Also did anyone else notice the Buell Lightning yesterday when the fast and loud guys where trying to get the motor to start. It was in the back left of the screen. |

Especially when his bike was painted a purple color that resembled nuclear blue , ant the forks looked like they where straight off a buell. But he did bring a cool bike.. Occ had the most interesting bike , the other 2 shouldn’t of been on the stage. There is no accounting for taste. |

I think he would probably kick your ass. I happen to like him, the rest are idiots..Their circus bikes wouldn't last 5 miles without shit breaking and falling off! |

I haven't been on here in a while, but I kept thinking that Sr and Jesse have just built a Buell and a Confederate. I caught the "no American sportbike" comment too. Duh.. Jesse's front end was identical to an S1 or even an XB-S. The rake, wheels, headlight, flyscreen... And I could have done without the purple. I like purple, but that didn't work. I expected more from Jesse as he has always been the best craftsman by far in my opinion. Still is, but I expected more. Maybe he figured that a 'traditional' chopper wasn't going to fly again. I like the Gas Monkey guys too, but they didn't fit in this contest. Like inviting a pirate to a tank battle. |

I saw the Confederate and tuber styling. I like Jesse James' bike best, but still.. |

I like Jesse's bike also but his comments about no other American sport bike bothered me. I think people in Austin TX should go over to his shop and show him some real American sport bikes. |

I used to follow both James and Tuetals then the shows got too predictable. the Tuetals became the 3 stooges, and James the ultimate exercise in bad manners / destructiveness. James has built other sport bike inspired customs some note worthy, they all have some skills but its all so much hype. I would love to see a segment about Erik Buell on discovery hosted by Mike Rowe say just after the release of the EBR "production bikes" the show may be 4 or 5 segments spanning Eriks' / Buell motorcycle history and ending With EBR, HD would probably not like it much as it would be MUD in thier eye..... |

I was really hoping that in one of the spoofing segments that either Jr or the Monkey guys would simulate Jesse taking a crap on his garage floor, picking it up, smelling it, and then saying "see.....I told you it doesn't stink!" Being and excellent technician can never go so far as to the amount of hot air he blows up his own ass. Arrogant bastard Buell copier! Sr wouldn't know a sport bike if it bit him in the ass. Why, in a chopper build off, with chopper building specialists, would these guys build their form of a sport bike? Why did Jr win with his over stated over sized simulator bike? Do people actually like that kind of a bike that is longer than a Suburban?(OK.....the headers were really cool) |

"Sr wouldn't know a sport bike if it bit him in the ass. " OCC is a Ducati dealership (or was, dont know about now)....so yeah, he knows about sportbikes. |

The show was called chopper live so sr and jesse brought the wrong bikes. Jesse built a pretty nice Buell copy, too bad we didn't get to see him ride it.We don't even know if it's rideable. |

http://www.exilecycles.com/index.php?section=110 Technically Buellish - as in Erik had a hand in the FXR Chassis, the exhaust is underslung.... needs the right forks though....and damnit that motor is heavy - maybe not so Buellish after all. but I do dig the sledge hammer it brings |

Hybred.....I know he sells them, but have you ever seen him ride one? I have not, but given how watching him ride the choppers they build and his claims of "how nice it rides, and how good it handles" ..... |

It wasn't Jesse's best work. Still better than the others. The other guys don't belong on the same stage... a different stage of their own, yes. Jesse is the only one I've seen actually build every piece of a bike from the ground up. |

Does every piece include the engine, transmission, sprockets, bearings, axles, brakes calipers, pads, rotors, hoses, fork tubes, seals, hand grips, tires, spokes, and on and on.....Really.....there is a lot to making every piece from the ground up. Me thinks he does as the others do. Build some and buy some. |

Etennuly youre spot on, never seen him ride a sportbike on the show. But at the same time, who knows what happens that isnt broadcasted. They probably edit things to not piss off the core watchers, the ones who like that style (premade choppers with different tanks) bikes. But my quote is still valid, he knows what a sportbike is, he sells them, contrary to what you posted, and i quoted, above as for the 'good handling' i've always thought the same duder, its 12 feet long, how does it "handle" at all outside of a long sweeper or straight line. |

The best part about last night's 'event'? That no new episodes of Senior's dementia or Junior's whine will be produced. The geriatric schnauzer and pubescent poodle will (hopefully) disappear from TV. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_Chopper#Canc ellation_.26_Senior_vs._Junior Mr. Grumpy asked about what upsides will come in the post-appocalypse? No more Teutuls. |

That bike has NOTHING Buell about it. The chassis looks like an antique and combined with that swingarm the thing has to be a real flexi-flyer. It would be twisted up into a pretzel long before it got leaned over to any serious degree. The first mid-corner bump is gonna cause a mess in your shorts if you are goint fast. Please don't reference Buell in relation to this thing. |

There was a Star Trek IV re-run on another channel- I wanted better comedy so I watched that... I caught the "no American sportbike" comment too... bet his douche canoe would outdo the others in a build-off. Doubt it'd float though. I kinda liked the Gas Monkey guys, especially when you could tell that one of their pranks pissed off Sr.- at least their bike looked like it would handle decently. Guess I should pick up a Horse subscription in the new year, provided I survive today. |

Hard to not mention Buell when my wife walked in, looked at the TV and stated "Isn't that a Buell Lightning?" If a casual motorcycle viewer, like my wife, made the connection on design to Buell tubers I don't know how anybody involved could not. Sr's bike was a POS Confederate wannabe JJ built a Buell tuber by "hand" which is cool but not a chopper Jr's bike was one of his better looking bikes but not practical GMG's bike was the closest thing to a practical actual chopper so they would have got my vote if I cared enough to vote. I liked when JJ said he didn't have a beef with Aaron but with Richard who is "expletive laced". JJ and Aaron are the only 2 on that stage, besides when Vinny got on stage, I would want to hang with ever. |

From the first commercial for the build-off I knew Jr would win again. For the undeniable fact that his fans are the type of people that text, twit, and vote for which Kardashian has the best machinists. I agree that Jesse and Sr's bike's weren't 'choppers' like the name of the show suggests. But then Jr's bike last year was far from a chopper too. It was an over-the-top, steampunk style custom motorcycle. It looked unrideable except for 15mins on a straight road. If I would have voted, I would have gone with GMG simply because theirs was a 'chopper', Aaron built the engine, and he rode it there. Jesse rode his last year, but his new one looked like it was motor-art and not a rider. The only reason I watch these shows is to catch the small moments of actual fabrication work. And I'm sorry Mr Host, but the Teutels did not start the chopper craze on TV. It started with the documentary on Jesse building and riding his Sturgis bike. Before that none of the chopper builders were household names. |

"I agree that Jesse and Sr's bike's weren't 'choppers' like the name of the show suggests" Im surprised you didnt go on to mention that lay down thingy SR and OCC built last time. I still havent seen this episode, but I want to, want to see what the finished products look liek |

I thought Sr.'s chassis was the most innovative in design, and the tanks were kinda' hip. J.J. had a little Roger Goldhammer in the mix, nicest tank & seat in alu. Jr.? Snooze, ZZ Top's Gibbons already did it. Gas Monkey? They simply did one of their car projects: Buy, clean, rebuild mechanicals, tart up. Now for the tear fest on the last Chopper show next week. I don't know what Jr. will do w/o the TV thing going for him. Maybe his personality will carry him forward. |

Really the only "chopper" in the "chopper build off was the '67FL.All the others were custom bikes.A chopper starts with a stock bike & is stripped down.It usually has a sawsall involved at some point. |

Halffast, I knew about that VTX-based sportbike and had saved pics of it from online. It has a lot of cool aspects. Don't know the backstory though. Lots of people have done the V-powered sportbike (besides Buell obviously) but they just don't cause a stir. And yes...that lay-down tracked snowmobile flamethrowing thingy from OCC last year should not even have been allowed in the building. Maxnix... you are absolutely right. The matching 'Cadzilla' bikes were BADA55! Take a note JR You are only 20yrs or so behind and you missed the mark by a mile. |
