What is so trivially demeaned by some, yet so profound and dearly wonderful to others. I ask respectfully, please don't trivialize or disrespect the celebration of the birth of Christ. I have no intention of trivializing the birth of Christ at all. I do however trivialize the holiday that our country has made it. It's nothing but a marketing season to encourage people to spend money on trash that they would, under any other circumstances, never spend that money on. I am happy to say that our family has pretty much agreed to not follow this shallow tradition, but rather make it a family holiday without the trappings of exchanging trash we don't really want. But I think of that spelling as belittling. I don't make fun of God. Only intended to make fun of the Satan Clause "Holiday". There seams very little holy about the way Christmas is being celebrated. My desire for the thread was to have a place for best wishes to be shared without getting into a heavy theological discourse. Please, clean up the thread or nuke it if it upsets you. (not my intention)
