Unions have a long history of violence. It's nothing new at all, just a part of their culture. From that same event...

If Fox said you know its only 1/4 true. If you get rid of the unions the rich will be happy and the middle class will go down hill fast look at the history go back 70 yrs +. History will repeat it self there will only be the rich and poor no middle class. The unions help every one they keep your pay higher so you want want join the union and they enforce safety on the job site

Just like every other union thug.

Hardly:

When you factor in average cost of living:

But the real determiner of wages is competition for labor. Check out the unemployment map:

Hard to keep wages up when unemployment is high.

Here's another:

And another:

Look where wages are GROWING.

Look where wages are SHRINKING.

See a pattern?

I do.

I would want to kick some a#$ to if they did that to me. My guess is Ohio will soon follow. All the right wing states are trying to do something bad from votes to right to work. You should watch FOX and MSNBC like I do I will bet you haven't got the b@%$# to do that. All the right to work in MI means you get union pay union bennys an pay no union dues and never fought for anything.

I am proud to be a "thug". We just took a 5% pay cut to keep working along with a few other concessions. I can't speak for any of the other unions, but if you are not any good at your job in my local....YOU DON'T WORK. My local wants to send out professional operators that leave a good impression. It is sad what this ONE union member did...but, it is no different then any other assault at a protest. I mean, it is called a protest, not a hugfest. I would love to watch the MMA fight between these 2 jackoffs. LOL.

And THAT is the real reason the thugs are out in force. The union knows that they can't really justify their value proposition and convince workers to pay dues voluntarily. If unions were so attractive, why would voluntary payment of dues matter one bit?

I was in a meat cutters union. I thought it was a good thing. All i saw was a smaller paycheck every week. As another member in different union i found the same situation. I just want to work for a decent wage. Forcing people to pay a small fee/ransom to have a job. Eff that. Never again.

If i work some where like that again... the negotiation will happen at the interview or before and then every 6-12 months.

I assume you are in the Teamsters union? Did you hear Hoffa Jr. promising civil war? This BS isn't ONE member, it's organized from the top. This ONE member was part of an organized group cutting down a large tent on top of people, some in wheel chairs.

I am not a teamster. And there were hundreds (if not more) people there from both sides of the coin. How can you prove that the people taking down the tent were union members. I saw lots of people there in the videos without any union "markings" on them helping. People get caught up in the mob mentality at every protest. Editing can make any point the media wants you to see......

Just curious, since I've never been part of a union...How much does a person pay to be a part of a union.
Also, why do people say they work for a union?
Does the union pay the employees, or does the employer pay the employees, or does the employer pay the union and then the union pays the employees?
This is all very confusing to me since I've never had to deal with a union.
The closest I came was when I was in high school and I worked for Kroger, I had the choice to join or not.

Ask anybody you see pushing shopping carts around the parking lot at Costco how they feel about union dues, and the union itself as a whole.

I agree with being able to choose whether you are in the union or not. But I don't agree that the people that don't pay union dues should get the same contract as the people that do (federal law mandates that the do).

What good is a union if you can get the same exact thing without it? Why keep them if you don't need them??

Why would you want to pay someone for something you can get yourself?

Union dues are essentially a money laundering vehicle to funnel money to the Democratic Party. Forcing a person to support politics which they fundamentally disagree or they do not secure employment is nothing short of what the mafia does. Negotiate your own work contract. Keep up the "there will be blood" and civil war rhetoric as there are a multitude of people listening.

Boeing, Nissan, Toyota, and VW are relocating to Right To Work states and are thriving as well as their employees. More will certainly follow. Unions are the primary cause of their own demise.

Yea... I just don't get the union thing. I mean... I DO in a sense that it could MAKE the worker work a certain way, follow certian rules and everyone that does that particular job will be (should be) qualified to do it.... and you needn't worry about it. BUT ... the same thing can be true for RTW.

I have worked at non-union automotive manufacturing and they had fine standards for everyone. If I went to Toyota/VW,.. I would expect the same but to have to PAY to work does seem like a mafia of sorts.

I find it interesting how good the media is at making the RTW people (remember the TEA party??) so violent and threatening to the public when the Union thugs are actually beating people with their fists and thier reps are making verbal threats and calling for violence all over the airwaves.

It is pathetic.
