Someone posted these photos of a "cafe'ed" XB on ADVrider yesterday. It has decals on it that say "Norton" and "Manx" (which an XB is most definitely NOT). Looks like it's been modified with different forks and brakes and huge air scoops up front, among other stuff. Anyone know any background on the bike? It's at least "interesting". |

Guy here in France did it, he's a sculptor & a big classic Norton fan. Spec is Ohlins forks & shock, Wheels are Alpina Brakes, Duc 999R calipers, Beringer discs & Brembo master cyl. Head fairing & seat are original Manx Norton apparently. The headlight is supposed to represent a painted Number 1 as in the old racing days, & is in LEDs. Airbox is handformed alloy to follow the old racer style of tank, held on with a leather strap, k&n filter direct onto the intake. Exhaust is home built using a modified GP muffler for an R6. Rizoma rearsets & controls. Nice looking bike. I wonder why she's decked out in leather from heat to toe, except her hands? Well, and her head, but neck to toe doesn't exactly roll off the tongue. |

I LIKE most of it (except for the front windscreen / light) . Makes me want to pick up an XB for a project bike. I LOVE the crazy chick riding it! |

That IS Emma Peel, correct? I'm sure Steed will be along shortly, once the blower Bentley gets to operating temp ... |

Wonder how the fuel filler neck works? New hole in the frame...or a goose neck to the original hole? |

whats up with the scoop by the swingarm? It is the exit duct for a piece that stops engine heat getting to the rear shock. These used to be available from the Buell race dept a while ago and I had one for our race bike (although removed it as it didn't fit with our aftermarket shock ) Quite a complicated carbon fibre moulding that pretty much surrounded the rear shock, with an exit duct on each side, very effective at ducting hot air away from the rear shock. Nice bike by the way, and a 'proper' cafe racer as well. The only part I don't like is the 'Heath Robinson' looking air scoop on the left side. |

Hootowl she's decked out in leather from heat to toe This might be a Freudian slip if the leathers didn't go clear to her neck. |

That, or I was typing on my phone. Let's call it a slip. She is hot. |

I guess I'm alone. It looks completely awkward to me and somewhat cobbled together. |

cant say i hate it, but there are a few things for sure that wreck the bike for me... that headlight setup looks out of proportion and just plain out of place. and not once have i caught myself thinking it looked like a 1... |

I don't get it. Why did they put Norton all over it? If that was removed, I'd ride it. |

That's basically the reaction he got on the French Buell forum, where I got the info & pics from. Too much Norton on it. Here's the thread for those of you that want to look. http://buell.actifforum.com/t27971-buell-facon-nor ton-manx |

It's a helluva set of wheels. No, I mean the wheels, the actual wheels. (click on the links in Mr. Grumpy's post to see them) Is Douki the French spelling for Dookie? Xl1200r, you are not alone |
