I agree wholeheartedly. It's the most sorted out for sure. Mine's not been exactly babied either. |

I hope Branken will correct me if I'm wrong about this but I believe the Buell nine engine was built in HD's Capital Drive plant to Buell specs, along side Buell 12's and Sportster engines. (Message edited by buellish on December 01, 2012) |

During an East Troy plant tour I had in the tuber era, the guide said that the motors were just a part number to them. Obviously, he meant as far as assembly and we all know that Erik had a very large hand in the mods from a Sporty motor to make a Buell motor. |

By far the most smiles per mile of any bike I've owned. I've got more miles on this bike than any other. Charlie (New12r) asked about the year and a half the speedo wasn't working, if it ain't documented, it may as well have not happened... |

It was built in a Harley factory by Harley employees (who, at the time, included the employees of Buell Motorcycle). It remains, IMHO, the best motor Harley ever built. |

I hope Branken will correct me if I'm wrong Nothing to correct there... Other than the spelling of my name, that is... 1313 is so much easier, isn't it? And yes, to Cap Drive, they were just part numbers - with BOM's (Bill Of Materials, for those unaware) attached to ensure each (motor assembly) part number got the right stuff. Still didn't keep one 1996 S1 engine from arriving at Buell with an 883 front head though - that was quickly caught and returned to H-D - which is one reason that one of the last things done to a tuber was stamping the motor ID #'s tied to the VIN... 1313 |

I think Branken and Eddie Buell are living in Vegas with Elvis and Jimmy Hoffa.
