Anyway... Being that it's a short trailer, it's hard to tell, but I can see some resemblance to the book. For instance, it seemed to take place in a few different locations. I could see this as an oral account of WWZ or maybe the modified it to be happening at that time, rather than in the past. Adding the family is just a script thing... Who cares about a single male UN reporter?

I don't see how it can live up to the book at all. The major concept was to interview people from all across the world, taking glimpses at different times in the Z war.
If the movie focuses on a single family, I don't think they can come close to representing the global Z crisis.

I was thinking the same thing Wolf, it looked like the prequel. Maybe the trailer just emphasized the prequel part, which is a small part of the movie, just to draw in people who have not read the book.
That kind of ruins the whole thing though... the really fun part of the book is that you had to piece together the larger backstory from the individual narrow survivor accounts and subjective impressions. It made the whole book that much more clever. That would be hard to do in a movie though....
