You guys heard on the news how there's still all those areas with no power back on yet? Court's the guy turning it back on. I'm thinking he's got his hands full! All those areas that have gotten their power back on - That's him, hard at it. If any of you guys run into him, buy him a cup of coffee and send me the bill. My wife spent last week during Sandy, out in Mattituck on the north east end of Long Island. She was with relatives. It was rough, but those in the city and New Jersey got hit MUCH harder. Glad to see BW back up! |

Spent most of the week trying to get ahold of Court. FINALLY got Vicky on the home phone on Saturday night. She said she kept power and had stocked up for a week or two before the storm. No real damage to the house either. There has been no cell service or internet there on Staten Island though. She also said Court was shipped out by ConEd before the storm... so eventually he will be on-line but not soon. (Message edited by Whatever on November 05, 2012) |

Glad to hear no ones hurt. Ocbueller, Shawn, Joe and others - be careful when doing repairs! Glad to hear Court is ok, I bet he's real busy. |

Thanks to all for the thoughts and well wishes. We were extremely lucky. Ended up with 13 to 18 inches of water. Water pump came back after the tide went down. First high tide was the worst. Heat still works, but the ducts will need some repairs along with insulation in crawl space. Never lost power or cable, although several neighboring areas did. Bikes are high and dry at a friends place. We have had worse wind and waves but the tidal surge is what did most damage. If the path of the storm turned westward a little sooner I would not be typing this right now. My heart goes out to those in New Jersey and New York, our outcome would have been very similar. You learn to value your friends and family when things go south. I was lost without my badweb. SteveH |
