I'm getting ready to change the oil in my son's Suzuki GS500. Being kind of cheap, I'm considering just getting Walmart brand Super Tech 10W-40. Does anyone know who Walmart sources Super Tech oil from? Thanks |

I would be more concerned about the API specs it meets than who makes it. |

That's why I'm considering it. The manual requires an API of SJ. The Super Tech is rated SN SM and SL. I was just curious as to the real manufacturer. |

Looks like it exceeds requirements. Use it and don't worry about who made it. It really won't affect the science behind the rating anyway. |

Rotella T might mess with the clutch less, and probably isn't much more expensive. |

If it says energy saving on the API label do not use it. Go with the Rotella T like Reepicheep says, I use it in my KLR and it works great. |

True, it does exceed the requirements. Just woundering was all. I did verify the Super Tech is NOT Energy Conserving. Good point to note Rwven. Well, I'm off for a little torque therapy. Got an easy ride planned. Starting in Yuma up US 95 through the Yuma Proving Grounds to Quartzsite. West on I-10 to Blythe, CA and then CA State Road 78 back down to Yuma. Easy ride of maybe 150 miles total. More just a sight seeing tour and a tune up for some longer rides I would like to do. TTFN (Message edited by Zane on October 27, 2012) |

The company I work for makes the Super Tech for Wal-Mart. We also make oil for Auto Zone, Advance, Tractor Supply, Pep Boys and several other private labels. It's good oil. |

Buellmeister, That's good to know. Thanks. Just got back from my ride. Just under 200 easy miles in about 4 1/2 hours. Great desert views and some nice mountain views in the distance. (Message edited by Zane on October 27, 2012) |
