My nine year old was learning about the circle of life in the arctic at school and came home later that day. He explained the cycle..."Penguins eat fish, seals eat penguins, polar bears eat seals... Then what eats polar bears? Chuck Norris?"
Dang! I hope they aren't teaching kids that there are penguins in the arctic. Leopard seals and penguins are in the antarctic. Fur seals and polar bears are up north. Apparently you can learn more on NatGeo than you can in school.
He's in third grade and slightly autistic... He's putting it together, I'm not going to muck it up with details. But yeah, NatGeo and Discovery (pre-reality shows) are big favorites around here...
He says the craziest things... When he was five, he was drying off after a bath. I was in the other room and heard 'There are balls in my brain!'. I was trying to figure out what he was talking about and my wife was laughing too hard to talk. Turns out he had a hand on his junk and felt what was inside... Apparently he equated the texture with a brain. I explained that he doesn't start using that brain until later.
