Away! Away, pesky red birds! Giants to the World Series again! The world is a better place when the Giants go to the World Series. Food tastes better, the air is cleaner and sun is brighter! |

Damn you filthy red birds! Fly unto the hills of Missouri! Fly and never return! Away! Let the Giants dine upon the rested flesh of the Tigres! The journeymen cometh! Their bats are true and their pitches filthy! Run for your lives! Ruuuun! Ruuuun Tigres! |

Damn. Pulling for the Tigers now. Would be cool to see a Triple Crown winner take the WS as well. |

Bwaaah Still I suppose it was too much to hope that the Giants would lay down. I think it's remarkable the Cardinals got this far considering the changes from last year The question now is, do I pull for the AL Tigers to give me a sense of revenge? or do I pull for the Giants to be true to the NL? If the Giants win it all, I can smugly say to myself that they only got beaten by the WS winners. If the Tigers win it all I'll know that the trophy stayed in the heart of America, the Mid-West, not some namby-pamby freak-show place like California. Boltrider, I watch live on MLB.TV costs me about $100 a year, & as I'm outside the US, no market blackouts. |

There is no joy in Mudville, mighty Casey has struck out. Eh. Rookie coach did good, tho. Carlos Beltran has an odd shoulda-coulda-woulda feeling today. Still, the National League plays real baseball. |

Our Houston Astros go to the AL next year and it will be interesting to see the Tigers when they come to town but I admit I will be pulling for the Giants in this WS. Max to your comment, the NL beat the snot out of us this year but it was nothing compared to what the AL will likely do to us in 2013. Like they say, it's a whole nother league. :} |

"Food tastes better, the air is cleaner and sun is brighter!" I'll bet after all the rain in SF last night, the rainbows are extremely vivid today. |

Yes the Rainbow has been called "Vividus Rainbosus" by those who speak the ancient tongue of Doubleday. That rain in the 9th was the stuff of drama, destiny and lore. It was almost profound. The Cardinals never had a chance after the first run and they knew it, they played like it. It was a beat down, a drubbing, an armed robbery with out the intent to actually rob, more about tasting the sidewalk. I think the Tigers are going down to a team whose men are taut and ready. The Tigers have been resting and lapping sweetened milk from the saucer of self satisfaction and complacency. Oh yes, mark my words unbelievers. Fat cats lounging about the place....snoring, purring, picture taking, talking, etc. Prince Fielder has a nice beard, though. You gotta say that. Giants in 5 or 6 |

Fielder get's his ring. Verlander the Series MVP. San Fran runs out of comeback wins. Tigers in 6 |

While I have been a HUGE St Louis Cardinals fan for the past 49 years now, they were simply out played by the Giants in the NLCS this year and I truly think that was the World Series we just watched because I don't think Detroit has a bull pen to go with their starting pitching. Nor do I feel they will be able to score enough runs to match San Francisco's hot bats. The Cardinals made a good run at the Championship, but came up short. Now I can be like a Cub's fan and say "wait till next year". |

Now I can be like a Cub's fan and say "wait till next year". Not really, as a Cards fan you know they've always a chance. As a Cubs fan... well I suppose you live in a state of perpetual hope. |

Well then, WS game 1. Giants behind Zito win 8-3 with Verlander pitching for Detroit. It might be a short series, especially if the Panda keeps lumping them like that. |

Four runs given up in the last 4 games. This is how they won it in 2010. I hope they keep Lincecum in the bullpen. |

Taut and ready Giants. Barry Zito tips his cap to the roar of grateful fans. What great stories in this game. What a beat down. |

I was looking at the pitching match ups for the series and I don't see this series going five games. I'm think this is going to be a clean sweep. |

Wouldn't that be satisfying, a clean sweep? I sure hope so. I am going to go ahead and smoke a cigar in advance. |

Well, well, well....it looks like the Giants are a better team at all positions. If I hear another commentary about the Giants getting all the breaks from odd plays I am going to snap! No luck tonight or last night. Only superior baseball. Giants are stronger than the Tigers. Tonight was another example of that. |

Yup, have to agree with that. I think the Giants kind of lost focus at the beginning of the NLCS against the Cards, who'd come back so many times. But they pulled it back together & now they're rolling. |

The Giants are a better team, no doubt, no excuses. But a sweep would be awesome! Here comes Matt Cain! |

Where's that brush? I'm consoled by the fact that the Cardinals went down fighting to a team on top form & managed to take 3 of 7 off them. Detroit aren't looking like they're about to turn around a 3-0 deficit. |

My recently deceased friend, Tim Shea, is/was a SF Giants fan. Talk about being in Heaven! Giants sweep Detroit 4-0! |

This just in... Tigers death not greatly exaggerated. They are dead, dead and further dead. The Giants were stronger offensively, defensively and had better starting and relief pitching. There simply was no where for the Tigers to go, no place to hide. |
