Hello All I need some advise on a bike that may fall into my lap. What would be the current value of a 1999 Buell Thunderbolt. It is Blue and has about 20,000 miles.. they had sent a couple pics and the bike looks clean. Supposedly a race pipe and ECU as well. I always thought it would be cool to own a tuber, as that was my first experience on a Buell. I was asked to do a trade but I am not sure on a Thunderbolts value, and of course no one seems to currently be selling one over in the classifieds. |

I've had my Thunderbolt for sale in the Classifieds for a while now for $1900. Maybe if I asked more it would sell? |

I used to do that at the shop all the time. The manager would say cut the price on that bike we have had it too long.... I would send it to the detail kid - front him 100 of the commish, keep it off the floor for two weeks. and roll it back out as the "Managers Special" with a new higher price. Sold every time, at the new higher price. Put a balloon on it too - I swear it makes them feel 'special' about spending the extra. |

I always put a selling price at the top end, if it's in the middle you've no room to cut a deal, & if it's too low people think it's "too cheap" so must be a lemon. Often times whatever it is goes quite quickly if your buyer gets a substantial discount he thinks & he's got a good deal It's persykologikurl I'm tellin' ya. Chauly, if I had the spare cash I'd have it & leave it there as a vacation bike. |

I have a friend that has an ST1100 in Coos Bay (OR) just for that purpose. He flies to Eugene from PA, then rides around out there. Anyone interested in that kind of arrangement? :-) |
