"What is oil?" "What is it used for?" I was having a conversation once with a couple of friends over politics and the Iraq war.... this would have been about 2003-2004. My girlfriend at the time asked "What does oil have to do with gas prices?" I wasn't dating her for her brains but still I wanted to crawl into a hole in shame.
