Nice goin' . http://www.tulsaworld.com/specialprojects/news/crimewatch/article.aspx?subjectid=450&articleid=20120921_450_0_Ayearo798608&allcom=1 Know who else came from Tulsa. Hint, he is a really fast Superbike rider.
A 17-year-old motorcycle passenger suffered minor injuries Friday after a motorcyclist who believed he was fleeing police was struck by a squad car near Lindbergh Elementary School. The driver, Jeremiah James Gantz, 22, offered a group of teen girls rides on the black Buell sport bike at an apartment complex near 65th Street and Mingo Road on Friday morning, police said. As he exited the parking lot, the driver performed several wheelies before proceeding to 71st Street, the passenger told police. At the 71st Street intersection, Gantz saw an officer whom he believed saw him driving recklessly and accelerated rapidly through cars waiting at a red light around 7:50 a.m., said Cpl. Mark Shelton. The officer elected not to give chase due to safety concerns but alerted other officers to the motorcycle driver. A second officer later spotted the bike on U.S. 169 near 21st Street, where Gantz accelerated rapidly again and exited at 11th Street and drove west, Shelton said. Gantz drove past the Mingo Valley Division police station, 10122 E. 11th St., which “ignited his paranoia even more,” according to Shelton. Officers at the station followed him from 11th Street onto 85th East Avenue, where he turned east on a gravel access road next to Mill Creek. Then, after seeing a gate at 89th East Avenue that he thought was closed, Gantz made a U-turn into the path of the police car following him and the car struck the left side of the bike at less than 2 mph, Shelton said. Gantz suffered cuts to his face and his passenger was treated at the scene for road rash to her right knee. Gantz was arrested and is being held at the Tulsa Jail on 14 complaints including child endangerment, driving under the influence and aggravated speeding. His bond is set at $43,000. The patrol car sustained minimal damage and a side mirror was knocked off the bike. |

I assume the girl wearing shorts, flip-flops, and the knee bandage was the passenger. She's lucky! |

Lucky that is no shit I hope they throw the book at him. To run when your by yourself is one thing to do it with someone on the back is quite another. |

That name - James Gantz - Looks familiar, I hope he's not one of ours to act so foolishly, most of our active forum members are safety conscious folks, but still the name sounds very familiar. |

Hey now this could be evidence of natural selection! Or it could be WalMart losing customers. |

Sounds like he was SUCCEEDING in picking up underage girls. At least in the initial pickup he was. Next time: Less squid wheelies Less crashing Pick up girls at college. Just kidding. People like this seldom learn from mistakes. |

This story was on our local Sportbike FB forum and nobody seems to have known him. If I had to guess he was new to Buells. He only had the bike for 2 days before this happened. Oh and the No Ho cover was on the bike the whole time. I would think that would be real uncomfy. (Message edited by 2734 on September 24, 2012) |

1125 eh? I had pictured him on an older bike. like a 2003 xb9. Usually, stupid = cheaper bike. Maybe just rich parents? |
