Marina Orlova has several food videos on her site - but one got me spooled up Kasha Blagoveshchensk .....
It seems it is a bit of a red herring and a spoof - there is no such thing... but it led me to a recipe of epic invention
It is a buck wheat and barley mix -'oat meal, with heavy cream white gravy, bacon sautee'd mushrooms and onions, with floured and fried calf liver ladelled over the top - it will stick with you ALL day. (it is a Mongolian Recipe - as the best I can tell the liver was originally Horse)
well it's not bbq. while in ga for buelltoberfest we went to the apple festival in Ellijay and bought some apples and whatnot well yesterday I made a batch of apple butter, first time i had ever done that/ turned out very good a little on the to sweet side of things but still very tasty.
A coworker's daughter works at the Panera Bread in Horseheads. There is a national contest for a new sandwich. there are 20 finalists and one of them is a local woman Debi L. and she has submitted the Toasty Chicken Ciabbatta. Go to the Panera Bread site
and vote for her. She is currently in 3rd place (up from #7). You can vote once a day and the winner is announced on Nov. 12. The winner receives a cash prize ($10,000 I think) and the sandwich will be added to the menu at all Panera stores. Also the employees of the Horseheads store will receive a generous raise. Thanks for all your help.
Boogiman Remember my Uncle Charlie at Daytona ? He has the family cauldon its made of cast copper about 90gallons. We have made apple butter in it since the 1800s. He makes it every other year If your coming to Daytona I ll get him to get recipes and apple types to use. It's getting harder to get the spice concentrates since fewer people even cook at home.
