Hey 'all' - been off for a while, but have been out on the beast again this year. Would usually do 'K Vault', but am running on smart phone only! Stranded with a broken clutch cable, 500km from home Harley dealer is just about within range (50km) - need to know if theres a readily available Harley clutch cable that will fit an '06 XB9Sx CityX! Im on dirt backroads, and phone (data) access is giving me issues - please email responses to wanderer4x4@yahoo.ca as I dont know if I'll be able to log on again. thanks all , C |

"IF" it broke by the lever, a cable stop might fix you up. Any good hardware store should have one if you have no luck with the dealer.

Good advice from Wolfridgerider (I fixed a broken mini-bike throttle cable more than once with those things). Will a Sportster clutch cable work? This would be a good piece of info for all of us for future reference. |

i can't swear to it buutt i know i've read here that a clutch cable from the same or similar year sporty will do. as long as the stops are right and the ferrules are too you can have extra length in the overall cable for a little while |

Just ride it... Start it in 1st, shift clutchlessly below about 2000 RPM, and you can get it as far as you need... Kill the motor coming to a stop, and kick it into 1st. I've ridden an 05 CityX a good distance this way to get a replacement clutch cable. |

Any of the xb cables, except the firebolt, will work, blast too. I wouldn't be surprised if a sporty would work too. Matt |

snapped off inside the casing - not enough length to add a cable stop. (judging by the corrosion, Ive been doing too much riding in the wet!) Didnt explain location: backroads BC, Canada, where Buell dealers (and parts) always were pretty much non existant, and even Harley dealers arent common. riding home' would have worked on dirt, but I would have had to go through 2 large urban areas - managed to contact a friend with a truck, and met him part way. |

sporty cable is similar to the S2 cable with the 1" bars. lever end is round with a hole in it. not familiar with the xb clutch cable. best luck. tim |

The primary case end of the clutch cable is the same as a Sportster cable, but the lever end is different, so those won't be interchangeable. (like Smoke said) The part number for the clutch cable is the same for ALL of the 7/8" bar bikes, according to my recent experience with my son's 'scrap bike' project. Sounds like Ulendo got rescued by that friend with the truck. |
