There are already some parts that are unobtainium. Like the upper fork bushings for S2's. If AL can't get them we are screwed. He doesn't have any left...

Everything on the bikes has been made by somebody so there will somebody out there clever enough to remake them again ; ) things like bushings will always be makeable :-)
Remember just how old the S2's are though ..... lots of other manufacturers that do still exist don't have all spares available for older models.

Doubt that there's anything you can't fabricate or cannibalize - and pretty cheaply too.

I even had custom headwork and had pistons computer-matched to the new heads and my custom-forged CP pistons cost me less than $300 each.

I'm lining up to buy a 1967 Aermacchi 250cc Sprint. No worries.

I plan on wearing my 1125 out before parts are unavailible. I figure Ive got 3, maybe 4 years. I bought during the firesale so with my fuel savings vs driving my truck, by this time next year the bike will be paid for. However, I love this bike so much I may buy another for parts before they get too scarce. At some point I assume EBR will have built a bike in my price range that I cant live without.

I have a 1913 Pope. It's not a show bike by any means. It gets ridden. It has been kept alive for nearly a century by nothing but a "can do" attitude. To me that is very fitting seeing as how that's what this bike was built on. A hundred years from now......someone will be telling this same story about my firebolt.

I have a 1913 Pope.

That'll be Pius X then.

Sorry, couldn't resist.

I figure parts will be around. I have a 1965 yamaha 305 just zero timed mechanically with all OEM parts. They are still out there, even brake cables with the tags still on. Probably can't drive in to the dealer and ask for work sometime but parts are always likely to be there on ebay, or wherever.

LJM - agreed, I see the old HD/Aermacchi stuff on ebay BRAND NEW constantly.

I feel we have little to worry about.

I have a 1992 Dodge Dakota V8 and am having a difficult time finding reasonably priced parts for some items. There are a couple of electronic parts we have simply not been able to source so we made do. We Buell owners may be able to find/fab parts for our Buells but I suspect it will become more and more of a challenge.
