I went to the Buell Homecoming in 2010 and took a ton of photos at the track. It was my first and only attempt at taking photos at the track and I had mixed success, but some of them turned out pretty good. I randomly ran across this one and thought I'd share. Looking at the photos brought back lots of memories. |

Second one is Dan Bilansky (given away by his name on the back of his leathers...). The Uly rider looks about ready to crash Lean off the bike man!!!! |

Yeah, first one's Tim- won't evaaar forget riding with him, Tom B. and Barker down in N. GA at "Ludicrous Speed", watching Tim "walk" that bike on any given straightaway... Good, no, GREAT times- hope to get another proper sport tool someday and repeat! |

Bilansky is riding Paul James's bike. The XB is Todd Evans, he is very smooth and very fast. |

Have not been to Blackhawk since the mid 80`s on my Yamaha fz750. I reckon my Uly could lap about the same as that bike or a bit better if I got some track time on it. It weighs about the same, same power at the crank better wheels chassis and brakes and way more torque. I here the track has changed a little since then and may be longer, maybe next year.. |

That was a GOOD time that day. Tim was running 1:19-1:20s that day, with his Corsa IIIs getting greasy. I tell ya Tim, you should get your license so you and Mowhawk Matt can do some team challenge races! He's running 1:19-1:20s on his XB now. |

lol, ya but that made it alot of fun! the tires and brakes were already toasted before they booted me out of intermediate and stuck me in advanced. lining up for the first session in advanced i remember thinking "crap these are all race bikes..." and i was in full street trim. cant remember what he was on, but there was just the one guy i couldnt outrun, but he couldnt seem to outrun me either. that made me happy. early brake every corner sucked though, but had to do it or i couldnt reign it in on my shot pads, but the sideways through most corners is always fun!!!!!!!! and yes, i was just thinking about that license again the other day. it would be alot of fun. the hard part is just finding the time to go get it. and remember, ive only been on a track maybe half a dozen times if that... youve been at almost everyone of them! homecoming may have been the last time i was on a track i think? |
