The hard part for the me in the private sector is where to draw a line. I see so much waste I believe the cuts need to be made but where? Civil servants, teachers, police for example should be well paid but in NJ I see teachers average $79K Police $106K Town workers $80K routinely. While in the private sector $60K is high. Should there jobs be cut IDK but spending reductions must be or we are doomed. Simply put those jobs generate little to no income and are financed by taxes so we need lower taxes people gotta get paid less. I am sure there is a better solution but IDK it and time is of the essence. Perhaps in benefits or retirements changes, money can be saved but not enough I think. We could blame a lot of things but in the end it doesn't matter it must change we simply can't live on credit as a nation. in the private sector we already have made HUGE sacrifices for years to be able to afford our lives we simply can not or should not have to do more. |

I work in the private sector. Yes the DoD is our single largest customer. Yes cuts are needed and balance must be achieved however this sequestration is NOT the solution. |
