Must have been an Aggie.... Sifo - we're roughly the same age so I gotta ask. How do you get enough time to find all this stuff? (I actually have to fit some work into my daily routine). Keep 'em coming - shop smart, shop S-mart.

I'm "semi-retired" driving a school bus. At the moment we are still off for the summer. |

Well, I might be a semi-retired engineer before long the way things are looking around here. Been expecting a 'downsizing' for the last 6 months - hopefully not - but thinking it'll be real soon if it happens. Might be time for a career change. You drive a regular bus or the short kind? We now return you to your regularly scheduled thread topic..... |

BTW, my wife just got "retired" back in January. Looks like she may get into the school bus gig too. I'm thankful to be in a position that this isn't much of a big deal for us. We were looking at full retirement around 2015 anyway. It's kind of nice to have something to still provide structure to my life though. During the summer I tend to forget what day it is. It would be better if more people I knew weren't doing the 5 day work week. |

That reminds me... I was heading to a customer in rush hour on the 91 freeway (LA, CA). The traffic was moving at a snail pace. I was noticing the person in the car next to me was texting, and I was thinking.. this can't end well. Sure enough.. A little later, the car (driven by the texter) hit the car in front. I saw that one coming. |

If you're not in heavy traffic, it's always entertaining to pull next to the texter and honk. Leave yourself room to escape. |

Slaughter, Sounds like a good time...but no such thing on the 91. ALWAYS traffic pretty much end to end. By "always", I mean rush hour starts around 4:00-4:30 AM weekdays. Great choice for texters... |

I was rolling down the Beltway in morning rush last Fri. Some clown in a mustang convertible cut in front of me, no signal & phone in hand. After about a mile of him stopping short, easing over the lane lines, and slamming on the brakes for no apparent reason, I'd had enough. I flipped up the lid and shouted, "Hey!" He looked in the rear view. I pointed to my eyes, then pointed forward. I half expected him to get out, or at least flip me the bird. But instead, he just nodded and set the phone down. Followed him a couple more miles till traffic cleared, then gave him a thumbs up as I passed by. Sometimes people surprise you. |

I can do you one better than that, Steve. I was going home on the 605 in rush splitting lanes as usual. I little up ahead I see smoke billowing out of the windows of an older corolla. I snuck along side them and honked the horn. Joint and dime bag flew and the two youngsters might never have been right in their heads after the shock. It helped a lot that the 1125 is black k and looks like a cop bike. It was fun. |

This is exactly why I love having a fast bike with a loud enough exhaust. I've actually had phones THROWN at me for scaring them while they're texting. I've seen at least 3 tossed out the opposite window, several more to the back seat and only been chased one time. |
