Sure it's pricey but it beats using a magnet or a coat hanger. http://www.amazon.com/Feuling-9012-Pushrod-Holder- Harley-Davidson/dp/B007KPVQH4/ref=sr_1_33?ie=UTF8& qid=1343432653&sr=8-33&keywords=harley+pushrod |

Still, I wouldn't want to take a chance adjusting my 12XBS valves the wrong way. |

It's not easy adjusting hydraulic lifters. |

I've always used wooden clothes pins. If they start selling $500 ash trays for cigarette smokers don't fall for that either. The cooling fins are spaced perfectly to stuff a smoke in while ya work. |

I always used bent paper clips and rubber bands. Seems a bit more cost effective. |

Wood or plastic clothespins with the spring work just fine for adjusting pushrods. The ones liberated from the neighbors back yard clothesline are as effective as the ones purchased from your local hardware emporium, though please don't take that as license to commit larceny. I'm just stating options that I may or may not have any actual experience with. I'm really hoping that price is a typo. Some of us H-D riders may be a bit cognitively challenged, but paying over 400 bucks for little metal clip is pushing it. Besides, most everyone on this forum is probably using the stock one-piece pushrods and have NO use for this tool. But, then there's the problem with sudden flare-ups of the dreaded 'Compulsive Tool Purchase Disorder' that many of us have contracted, often at an early age. Somebody's going see this thing and go "Oh DAMN! I gotta have THAT!" and buy 2. Incurable, unfortunately. Abject poverty can temporarily reduces symptoms. |

I like to use small bungee cords on bikes with pushrods that must be adjusted, regardless of the type of lifter. There's a sucker born every minute, so I'm sure some damn fool will buy those things... |

Yep, I used small bungees on my FLHP when I had to adjust the pushrods on it. Looking back...I'd just use solids if I ever build another one. Just another layer of potential misadjustments....and not much benefit (although it was a solid 90/90 evo motor that was still 80"...). |

Clothes pins, paper clips and bungees! I don't know how you people work on bikes without proper tools! I just hope the clothes pins were wiped off before being returned to the neighbors clothes line! |
