Hey, who are you calling a nut Court. Thanks to all for the help. James got me the specs and I found a suitable replacement. Lynn and made it to Dodge City, KS. Only a little over 400 miles today but in this heat I will take it. With any good luck we will arrive home tomorrow. James, pm me your address as I have something for you. Frank |

Frank, stay safe out there in the Springs. Looks like you guys have a sizable fire close to your backyard there. |

Ccryder, thanks for the phone call. Lynn and I made it home around 1100 today. The last 50 miles were hot but overall a nice ride. Ryan, as soon as we rolled in I heard fire engines and the neighbors were getting ready to evac. It seems another fire started about a mile down the road in an area that Lynn and I hike in. Three FDs got it taken care of quickly. Over 100 degree temps, single digit humidity and high winds is making it difficult. The Waldo Canyon fire shut down 24. If you remember 24 just west of cave of the winds and that parking area after the blind turn is where that one started and is heading into the Springs, Green Mountain Fallls and Woodland Park. Garden of the Gods and other places in that area are shut down. It seems that Colorado is on fire. |

"other than the familiar OEM part, what else did you discover that also works? The axle nuts major internal diameter is 24mm with a 2.0mm pitch. The oem nut is what most would consider a jam/half nut because its about half as wide/thick as a normal nut. I'm just happy Frank was able to find a nut whether thick or thin on a Sunday in Wichita Ks. to get him on his way back home. (Message edited by Jramsey on June 25, 2012) |
