i go through a pair of red wings about every two years (auto shop very oily etc). lately i've been having some feet pain i think from standing on concrete all day but who knows, may be from getting old! anyhoo i'm looking at the ones that have the dyna-force insole, i always get the regular sole up till now.. does anyone have any exp with these? like are they too soft? and break down fast? are they the cats a$$ for concrete like they advertise? a gimmick? in my past exp i had a pair of wolverines that had some special sole for working on concrete. they didn't last but a year. so i'm a little leary.. any input would be awesome |

I've been wearing redwings for 9yrs. I've found the moldable insoles to wear for about a year I'm no lightweight pushing 225+ the outsoles they have that are nearly clear again can't recall the same offer great grip and about two years worth of wear on all surfaces including being worn on the bike during my commuter years on 2 wheels |

Redwings are great boots . They only have a couple models still made in America . I would get insoles with the boots. Concrete, gravity and AGE are unforgiving. |

Redwings here too. Had old pair that were killing me (steel toe only at GE) and found that they were too small AFTER my feet were in them for several hours. Went to a D width and 11 1/2 boot and all is good. This is the 100% Made in USA model, about $219. Here is the model # ASTMF2413-11. I'll bet your boots are getting tight as your feet swell. |

I only buy Red Wings and I only purchase the American products. I have been buying the models with the clear soles in various length uppers and they are without a doubt the most comfortable footwear I have ever owned. The problem is that I was go through two pairs a year. Other guys I work with get at a least year out of a pair unless they purchased from the Chinese line. I know this is not answering but if they currently offer the clear outsole with the dynaforce insole that will be what I buy when I return in a few weeks. |

The only work boots that I wear are the Red Wing 2412 model. They are the top of the line boots that red wing makes. They are the most comfortable boot I have ever worn and have much longer than any others. The 2412's have steel toe, gortex and the Aztec Supersole 2.0. They also make other models of the same boot without steel toe, without gortex and some with thinsulate. They are pricey just under $300.00 but they last me a couple years. I have two pairs so I can switch out every other day. The red wing store that I go to requests that you bring them in every 30 days so they can oil, turn eyelets, change laces if necessary and just look at the wear of the boots overall. Red wing has the best customer service that I have ever seen and they stand behind their product 100%. Here is a link to the boots I wear. http://www.redwingshoes.com/red-wing-shoe/2412-red -wing-shoes/2412-red-wing-mens-8-inch-boot-brown |

so many choices! looks like the aztec super sole is the clear-ish one. man and i didn't even see the swen-flex insole option before. the one i was looking at is the 406. says made in usa but with imported materials http://www.redwingshoes.com/red-wing-shoe/406-red- wing-shoes/406-red-wing-mens-6-inch-boot-brown |

I would highly suggest that when you got to the red wing store try on the 406's but then try on something similar with the Aztek Supersole 2.0, I think you will be surprised. Yes the Aztek supersole 2.0 is the clear one. |

well crap! they don't have the dyna-force insole along with the aztec super sole. maybe it's a redundant feature? have to try em both as suggested for sure |

I'm a 4418 guy . . . have been for years. Keep a spare pair in a box under the desk. For years I used WESCO Custom Highliners Even though they can be pricey . . nearly $700 . . . they were worth it. |

I have a pair of 406's on right now... I like them, for what thats worth. I'm also in the market for a set of go fast shoes... Marine Corps speak for tennis shoes. I found out that New Balance has a pretty good selection of US made products |

Impact Gel is some pretty amazing stuff. They turned a pair of uncomfortable shoes into some sweet kicks. http://www.impactgel.com/footwear.html |

Not seen Redwings here. I love these, a pair will usually last about 1 1/2 -2yrs. Thinsulate & antibacterial lining & no laces cos I'm a lazy git. http://www.magusintl.com/PPE/ViewProductDetails.as p?ProductID=409&aID=Foot%20Protection&L=1&Category ID=119 |

I got my first Red Wings about 2 years ago. Love them. I can't offer much toward the original question, but I will offer these comments. I have a friend who had a pair resoled and they somehow really messed up the toe on the inside of the boot making them very uncomfortable to wear. He took them back to see what they would say and they agreed they were messed up and couldn't be fixed. They let him keep the boots and offered him an 80% discount on a new pair. I'm convinced they take good care of their customers after the sale. BTW, the pair I bought 2 year ago were waterproof. They still are too. I've had other waterproof boots that tend to start leaking after just a few months. I will buy their products again in the future. |

I got my Red Wings (2426) a little over 3 years ago, and they show no signs of needing replaced any time soon other than the soles getting thin. For the first two years, I wore them every day for everything from aircraft maintenance, to riding, to hiking. I ended up getting a pair of Irish Setters - Hammerhead model iirc. The company is owned by Red Wing but all the boots are made in China. They have become my summertime boots while the Red Wings come back out in the winter months. Both pairs sit with plenty of boot oil on them in their respective "off seasons", and they're both wearing out at about the same rate - slow! I do have special insoles in each pair, can't remember what kind but they've got a massive hump in the front to compensate for feet like mine with no arch. |
