Im most definitely taking pictures of license plates of cars/trucks parked in front and behind me from now on. A truck backed over my bike on tuesday. Didnt mess it up to bad, bent the kick stand completely forward, messed up the bar end mirror, light damage to fork tube. the damage isnt what pissed me off, Shit Happens, but running away does. You have to know if you hit something, we all know what it feels like to touch the curb so i dont accept that the person "didnt know". Taking off and not doing the right thing burns me up. Just venting here |

"light damage to fork tube"... WAITAMINUTE! Make sure the front end is still straight and true- hopefully you're describing a "scrape", nothing more... Had some drunk, mad douchebag push my bike over in front of my regular watering hole- of course the regulars/friends there alerted me immediately- I chased down the perp, confronted, and managed NOT to whoop his aisss- luckily, because the popo had already been called. Given that we're likely to have a cel phone camera, not a bad idea to put it to good use- FWIW, I popped a bunch of pics before the aisss bailed, including the back of his vehicle, just in case. |

How do you know it was that truck? The truck might of left, and someone else tried to get into the spot, failed, hit the bike, and took off. |

It was a pretty short time frame from when i parked and when i walked out my bike was taking a nap on the pavement and the truck was gone, also the rust in the scrapes on the fork tube was most likely from the trucks rusty bumper. (in my biased opinion) i did check out the forks extensively before i moved an inch. that was my biggest concern. What sucked even worse was the cop was bummed he had more paperwork to do now, didnt even pretend to care. It could have been some one else but thats less likely. (also my biased opinion) Thank goodness for Ebay! kick stand is on its way. pretty nervous leaving my bike propped against the wall. |

You need to contact your local CSI or whoever, I'm sure they can get the licence plate of the truck from somebody's surveillance video by enhancing the reflection in the window of a passing bus or something similar. I mean, that's what your tax dollars are for, right? Not had it happen to the bike but the wife's Ford got the front poked in a few months back in a supermarket carpark. Again, there's no way whoever did it couldn't have noticed a bright yellow/green metallic Focus C-Max attached to one end of their car. Nobody seems to do the decent thing any more. |

I feel you Psykick. Someone pushed my bumper in on the front passenger side of my car, left me with stress cracks in the paint and the fender/bumper lines are off. I came out of a mall once during a real busy time of year, lot was packed. As I was walking out to the van I had to quick step to keep from getting backed over by a pickup. After I cleared it I heard a crunch and turned around and a young female was looking at me with a deer in the headlights look. I stood there expecting her to get out but she bolted and was able to get her license plate and left a note on the other car with my number and her plate. |

Sorry to hear this Psykick. I believe people that do these things ultimately get what they deserve. I hope you don't find any other hidden damage. Probably not too many Buell riders in Alaska and I hope it doesn't cut into your short riding season. |

I learned the hard way ALWAYS park next to a light pole, or in the corner on a lot, the twits may not see you bike but they likely will see a light pole. Hard way was coming out to my very first NEW motorcycle a 3 month old Honda CX650 Silverwing only to find it was now looking like a manhole cover. Way back when there WERE no cameras to see what happened. BUT the bozo driving the 18 wheeler didn't make it far with half a Honda stuck in his tires. One Parking Lot safety note NEVER ride through them always ride along the outside edge of them. Parking lots seem to be "No Mans Land" when it comes to traffic laws and people get even stupider in them than on the road. |

I simply won't park where I can't keep my eyes directly on the bike. Yes, it limits the places I can go to.... but oh, well. |
