I have put almost 40,000 miles on my car that I got at around the same time as my uly, no flat tires. I have put a little over 8,000 miles on the uly and last weekend got my third flat, another nail! Whats up with that? |

If you carry a puncture kit under the seat - not much. If you don't it's a bit of a PITA. |

Do you ride near the edge of the road or in the grease strip (ie places car tires don't usually ride)? Also, I would assume a motorcycle tire would be more likely a victim due to its softer and thinner composition. |

I do carry a plug kit and compressor under the seat thinking this would help, I usually ride near the yellow lines in the left tire track. Btw the little 9 dollar slime compressors work pretty good! I was thinking it was because of the distance between the tires is so much shorter when you hit a nail with the front it flips it up and gets stuck in the rear, on a car the nail has time to flip over all the way maybe. |

Last month I drove my 1982 GMC to North Carolina to tow a POS Mazda RX8 back to Baltimore. I normally only drive the truck to the dump or Home Depot and it gets about 400 miles a year. In all the times I have been to the dump, which is littered with nails and other debris, I have not had a puncture. I got flat before even reaching DC and had to change the tire, installing a spare that had never been on the ground since 1982. Did the rest of the trip on a dry-rotted spare. |

Did the rest of the trip on a dry-rotted spare. Oooh I hate it when that happens, it makes pucker marks on the seat every time you hit a pot-hole. |
