coming to a DMV near you....

MVC and SPCA team up to send strong message about
another form of Distracted Driving and Animal Cruelty....
http://www.state.nj.us/mvc/PressReleases/archives/ 2012/053012.htm

I like the part where is says ... motorists are encouraged to call the spca's snitch line if they happen to see a dog in danger.... (ie: a dog with head out window of vehicle whilst moving)

$$250.00 to 1,000.00 fines!!

Well... doesn't look too bad... something for the pooch to associate going for a ride in the car other than me saying "Do you wanna go by-by's in the car?!?!?!"

As long as she can still plop her face out the window, I will never NOT let her do that. She loves it,..what dog doesn't?? I guess I will have to pony up the mula and buy one (or 2 for other car) The fines seem horrible. I was gonna try and rig something up for my bike anyway's to try and train her to ride with me... but that seems like a real pita and alot more dangerous.

Motorists traveling on New Jersey's roads and highways who see an animal in danger are encouraged to call the SPCA at 1.800.582.5979.

This is just unbelievable.... SNITCH on your neighbors... DO IT... it be inhumane NOT to!!! All they need is some sad music and they have a great commercial to promote snitching,.... (real reason is they BROKE and need the money) 1k fines here ...1k fines there... no big deal.... how many freaking animals get injured from car accidents a year?? In the state of new freaking jersey??? Go google it... I can't find diddly.

Is this the a Romney effect?

My dog rides just fine, in the passenger seat, in my truck without needing to be buckled up. What a stupid law and a waste of tax payer money to come up with this crap.

Wearing a full face helmet could save many lives. Perhaps it should be mandatory.

Of course, I'm talking in cars. For Humans. Remind me to mock NJ more.

A set of Doggie Goggles is a good idea if you let your dog hang his head out the window. I dig why they do it, it's gotta be like fast forwarding through a tape, but in smells.

My dog rides in the bed of my truck.

Romney's dog probably loved riding on top of the car.

Urban people tend to be idiots about animals and guns.

Preface: I make no judgment whether the guy's actions were right or wrong... (Although the choice of time, place and methods to deal with the situation could have been better thought out)

A couple of years ago, a local rancher-type dude had a farm dog in the back of his truck (you know: dually F350, flat-bed with 5th wheel). He had some business in Park City. Apparently, the dog just would not stop barking. I guess he finally got tired of his unruly livestock, so went outside and smacked it upside the head with a hammer. Problem solved.

...Except he did it in Park City, and someone saw it go down. They tried to get him sent up to prison for 10 years. You don't even get that if you kill an actual person....

Yeah, I'm not in any way in favor of hitting a dog in the head with a hammer. That said, you are correct, you can get more jail time in liberal urban America for abusing a house pet than another person. That just does not make sense to me.

BTW, I love the way those ranch dogs can balance on top of a load on the back of a truck. I've seen blue heeler jumping around on top of a 15 foot high loaded log truck having the time of it's life.

Around here I see dogs in the back of pickups all the time. They look like they are having a ball running around and getting a facefull of wind. Never saw any dead on the side of the road either.

I don't understand all these old people driving around with the yipper dog on their laps. I guess they would have been texters if they were young.

efing idiots. why don't they make an incentive to locate and SNITCH on the illegal breeders and basement dog fighting that goes on,... a 10k reward for those who snitch on them bastards... THAT would be a more useful law imo. A heavy fine's with time even for those found participating in one and worse for those running it. (same thing for the drug dealers)

There's a guy who rides around here with his female Weimaraner in a crate behind him - gives new meaning to the term "riding bitch."

She is awesome on the bike.
