Rented a trailer, grabbed a friend and went over to Kittanning, PA to get my new money pit....I mean toy. 1999 Pro Chassis Dwarf car, 03 GSX-R 750 powered.
Boogity, Boogity, Boogity, let's go dirt track racing boys!
You are so fortunate to have the "resources" to aquire that and as others have said..+1 to all of it.Love the"Boogity Boogity Boogity" thing.LT (((((((((((((((((((((((()
I raced at Stateline Speedway in Busti NY and Eriez Speedway in Erie Pa. I worked on others cars from 1973 to 1979 then I built and raced my own from '79 to '84.
Quitting that was the hardest thing I ever did. My racing and car building was nearly 100 percent of what I did for ten months of the year. Nothing got in the way of preparing the car or race time. I ruined a lot of good girlfriends back then.....the race car always came first.
I quit to look around to see if there was more to life than my racing. I was too focused on one thing. Now that I have been married 25 years as of last week, and the youngest of my tribe is over 21, and the nest is empty, there may be room for racing again when the economic situation says it can happen. I may be getting old.....but I ain't dead yet!
Money wise everyone tells me these are rather inexpensive things to race. Few gallons of gas a week, change the oil every few weeks, tires last a season plus, suspension parts are pretty inexpensive, etc. After going over the car today I found a few things I want to upgrade, nothing too major. The more major (expensive) things that it needs is to change the rear gear ratio (anyone got an 8 bolt Toyota 3.58?), a bead lock right rear rim and the tires are in need of replacing cuz of age and they're too hard of a compound.
The goal is to get it track ready for the next open practice on June 12th and if all goes well race on the following Saturday.
