Here's a bit more detail on what "intermediate range" means...
quote:
A leaked autopsy reportedly shows that the bullet that killed Florida teen Trayvon Martin was fired from "intermediate range," which one forensics expert said means anywhere from one to 18 inches away.
1 to 18 inches seems very consistent with Zimmerman's story. I know some have said they would expect a "contact" shot. With a semi-automatic like Zimmerman was carrying any pressure on the muzzle end of the slide will move the round out of battery preventing the gun from firing. Bottom line is that this is one more piece that seems to back what Zimmerman claims happened, despite NBC doing a poor job of fairly reporting it.
Sifo, seems you hear exactly what you want to hear on the recording. You must have been right there to know that he stopped chasing the kid after 10 seconds. "He stated he stopped"...where exactly did he state this? You obviously know more than the other witnesses that were there, hell, you know more about what happened than Zimmerman. I think you should testify as you've got all the answers and have all the facts......doy.
At 3:03 is when Zimmerman says "he's running". At that point you can hear rustling as he gets out of the vehicle and starts to pursue. You start to hear wind noises and his breathing get noticeably heavier and faster.
At 3:18 the officer asks "are you following him".
At 3:23 Zimmerman replies "OK" to the officer saying "we don't need you to do that".
Total chase time no more that 20 seconds tops.
At 3:33 Zimmerman states "he ran". That's past tense as in he's gone from the scene. Zimmerman's breathing returns to a normal rate for the balance of the conversation that ends at 5:00. That's a 20 second chase followed by a minute and a half of phone conversation with the officer and an undetermined amount of time after the call ended before Martin and Zimmerman had contact again.
Zimmerman had agreed to meet the responding officer to give his statement at this point in time.
Martin, according to the girl he was talking to on the phone said he wasn't going to run. The implication sure seems to me that he was going to go back and confront Zimmerman. I don't know what other conclusion to draw given the recorded evidence that Martin had in fact started running.
At some point even the skeptics have to observe the following pattern:
1) Mainstream media reports mostly correct information that lacks a critical but easily discoverable piece of context, and that would lead most people to a completely incorrect conclusion.
2) "Right Wing" media or blogosphere does about 90 seconds of research to find or emphasize the critical piece of objective information that completely changes the context.
You know, like editing the part of the tape out where the dispatcher asks "what race is he" but playing back the part where Zimmerman states his race. Or quoting the coroner report that the shot was "intermediate range" but not bothering to find out what the cornoner meaning of "intermediate" is, which turns out to be down to as low as 1 inch.
There is a clear pattern of guilt here, but it's not Zimmerman...
"State prosecutors said Zimmerman gave several inconsistent statements to Sanford police, which is, in part, their basis for charging him with second-degree murder."
Again, Never, never ever, never ever ever talk to the police, just say no. EVERYTHING you say can and WILL be used against you.
And again I apologise to all the LEOs here, but just don't do it.
State Prosecutors said..... At this point, any statement other than "we will see in court" is a self serving, publicity seeking politician. If you believe anything said by a prosecutor, you missed the reality check. Most if not all of the guys who talk to a reporter are running for office, if not today, soon.
See the former Gov. of NY. Love Client #9. He spent years running for the job while AG. Every speech, every press conference, and many of his blackmail actions were ALL aimed at getting the better political job.
Swampy also has a point. EVERYONE gives inconsistent statements. Some have done so here on this thread in the last couple of days.
Those trying to lynch George really ought to be ashamed. I've stated my opinion on another thread related to this subject, so I'll recap, simply.
I don't know the details of the confrontation. Who threw the first punch? What were the actions of each fellow between the initial 911 call ( which you can hear, above.... undisputed ) and the moment when G shot a T who with very, very, high probability was beating G to death?
Any castle law, stand your ground law, etc, is not relevant to this case. The people attacking those laws using this case to do so are dishonest. Period fracking dot.
The race exploitation crowd, not some idiot in Florida, are responsible for the beatings, assaults, battery and death threats "related" to the "Travon" case. I also see no way to prosecute or sue those race exploiters. I can, however feel free to call them as I see them. They are evil dudes who screw people to make a living, and seem to not care who gets hurt, as long as they get their money/fame/facetime. If you are listening to those people, and believing them, you are a fool.
