Here are the production parts minus the final hardware. Should be ready to ship by the weekend!
Place your order at www.5-0dro.com while these parts are still on pre-order special! |

Isn't Quickboard an inappropriate place for sponsors to be selling in? Admins: Shouldn't this be moved to "Buell Motorcycles, Parts, Service, & Accessories"? |

Sorry. I'm kinda new here. I was just looking for a place for a quick update. If it should be elsewhere please move it admins. Thanks! |

I've seen other sponsors get the word out in the Quick Board so, IMO, no big deal. Good looking pieces btw. |

Sponsors are allowed to post ads anywhere on the site, the quickboard does get more exposure than the sponsor sections, so cross-posting is encouraged. I don't see any mentions of this in the Xboard, which is the target audience, so post them up there too I can't wait for my order to come in |

I got the chance to see these first hand at the Dragon V Buell meet. They are EXTREMELY well done and look great! If I was in need of a set I would not hesitate to get them! |

Thanks for the support! Bad news though...The hardware finish was not acceptable so I had to reject the lot. They're going to refinish them but they won't be in my hands until around Monday. I didn't anticipate this. I'll have everything else packed up and ready to go for when I have the hardware. Sorry for the delay. |

There's some of the prototypes on the bike here: http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/171 43/672619.html?1336531274 I haven't had a chance to put the final ones pictured above on my bike yet but I will post some pics of them once I do. |

those look great! any chance they could also be created for tubers? the LH slider & timing cover look pretty close - dunno about the RH slider...... |

Thanks Firstbuell. There's always a chance but honestly, we haven't had much exposure to tubers thus far so it's hard for us to design & manufacture parts for them in any decent quantity (to get to a good price point). Hopefully someone can prove me wrong eventually. There's definitely some nice tubers out there but I rarely see them myself... |

all it would take to see is a Sportster mill of the same time period, say 1996-2002 a tuber's LHS isn't identical for mounting paoints, but it's close same likely for timing cover me want !! |

Definitely worth considering. I'll let you know if we ever go forward with it. Thanks! |

Here's a weird thought: I first thought they were kinda goony, sticking out that far, but then I thought "Hey! Instant Highway Pegs!" Lord knows I'd love to have a couple of extra foot placement options for a long ride... at HC '10 I saw some guy's Uly with a home built contraption that allowed him some forward pegs for cruising... 5o- whadya think? Have you had a chance to try these out in such a way? Methinks it'd be awsuum on a Uly! |

Squids, you can get the highway peg brackets for your bike too, they were designed with the Ulys in mind but I can't see why it wouldn't fit your niner http://s410372035.initial-website.co.uk//accessori es/select-bike/buell-xb12x-xt/ Sandro, when I get mine I'll see if the 03-07 kit fits the Blast, given they are very similar. |

Squids: Here's some pics of them (production brackets/prototype sliders) on my 2004XBS (from Dragon V ). They're in kind of a weird place for highway pegs but maybe not with the longer Uly frame?
Thanks Froggy! That would be great! I appreciate it! |

Well Frogs- glad to see something's out there, but their pics kinda sucked, couldn't really see the way they're rigged up... Holla back, 5o, see if they can do double duty! |

It mounts to the tabs where the right side/ left side scoops mount, then to the muffler, then to the frame near the footpeg brackets Just eyeballing it I can't see why it wouldn't work. |

Stupid question time.. Has a bike ever been tossed onto its side with these attached? What was the outcome? I've dropped my XT a handful of times (all but one of them in the dirt) and as far as I can tell, no part of the engine has ever touched the ground. Seeing how large the crash bobbins are on these parts makes me wonder if a minor tipover could expose the cases and covers to damage that would otherwise have been absorbed by frame pucks, bar ends, and other parts that hit the ground first. Not trying to pee in anyone's cheerios Just wondering how these products perform when they're used as intended. |

Pk, the XT is very well protected, but the header is still vulnerable and can dent itself in minor spills. On the left side, it isn't as much of an issue on the Ulys, but the primary cover is easily damaged on Firebolts. I do understand your criticism, and I hope these sliders work as advertised and don't cause further damage. |

Pk: These have not been put to the test in "real life" just yet as I'm the only one that has them on a Buell right now. You have a valid point and one that I have fielded a few times before. Yes, we definitely put a significant amount of thought to that. Every situation is different and high speed impacts are even more difficult to predict. I've seen many primary cases and headers banged up. I don't think the Uly's are any different in a fall but I can't say for sure. Our design mitigates that risk by using high performance resin sliders which are compliant. Their compliancy is intended to absorb impact while they "shave" or wear down on the pavement or whatever they go down on (also absorbing energy). If the sliders were aluminum or harder this risk would be much greater. That's also why we recently opted for stronger hardware. This was designed to keep the base (and the engine case) in tact while the sliders to the work. That being said, these case sliders can't be expected to be a "force-field" for your engine cases. Things get very unpredictable at higher speeds (road surface effects, flipping, etc) so the sliders cannot be expected to save your engine cases in every situation but we intend for them to give your engine cases a better chance at survival than if they were not there.
