I've never ordered anything from Amazon.......always have found a better deal elsewhere. Foresthill by David Brooks came up(if you have ever read Sacborg) and I ordered it..........came my way just fine(about a week ago)....then I get this scam email: Dear Customer, Your order has been successfully canceled. For your reference, here's a summary of your order: You just canceled order 15-3362-726 placed on May 6, 2012. Status: CANCELED __________________________________________________ ___________________ 1 "Fornication"; 2001, Special Edition By: Ita Wright Sold by: Amazon.com LLC __________________________________________________ ___________________ Thank you for visiting Amazon.com! I never made that order and the link included in the email was for a Viagra sales site. This was a "secure"(?) ordering site? I doubt Amazon sent me the bogus email...........but how did who ever did send it.........know that I ordered something from Amazon? |

I ordered David's book....(on Amazon)....a few weeks ago..........it came from a private vendor. (love his "stories) I get at least 1 item a week from Amazon.....sometimes 3-4......for years. Super impressed with them. Check with the book vendor........??? Ride safe.......Jack |

The fraudster doesn't know. They just send that email out to several million email addresses, and the 4% of them that DID happen to order something from Amazon in the last week click the link because it sounds legit. |

I have multiple e-mail accounts that I use for different purposes, I know which vendors account is related to which email account so I can just bin anything that's unrelated. I get the Amazon one & facebook ones & youtube ones. Unless I can tell from the mail title that it's legit, I don't click links in email. If it's gone in the spam folder that goes triple. If you get that sort of stuff & it may be legit but you're not sure, don't click the link, open a fresh page & go to the real site to check. |

Just a word of advice, if the email doesn't make sense, like this Amazon cancellation email, then don't click links in it. There are all sorts of nasty things you can get out of that. |

Amazon Prime Member for 6 years. I only have good things to say about them. |

I too have only good things to say about Amazon, but that's what these scumbags count on, the fact that the Amazon name & logo are solid & reliable. |

always have found a better deal elsewhere. I'm afraid you really haven't tried using Amazon, based on my experience. True enough, there are some lower prices to be found on some things... but Amazon's truly excellent return policy generally steers me to purchase from them. Add to that, the nominal fee I pay each year covers FREE two day shipping on almost everything. $3.99 per item for overnight shipping. Amazon has nothing to do with any false emails you might receive bearing their name and/or logo. If you can't spot the obvious fakes, perhaps shopping online is something to avoid. |

I too love Amazon. Probably accounts for 75% of my purchases for, well, everything. If so many items didn't qualify for free shipping already I'd be a prime member. Even if I can find something a few bucks cheaper, which is kinda rare, I still use Amazon because returning is very easy. No questions asked, just send it back on their dime. Awesome. |

I have no qualms with Amazon......the buy went well, just like anything else I have ordered online......but somebody out there is "seeing me" as this is the only email I have received from Amazon ever, other than the confirmation and shipping email. And then today,I get another cancellation email....that I cancelled "this order" tomorrow(just like the first one,a day early). Link takes me to the same Viagra site.No big deal,I get dozens every day. So I'm looking at a really odd bearing with a key way cut into the inner race..........in a bearing website I have never been to before, Next? That very same bearing shows up in a sidebar ad on my local weather web site..........smooth operators! Between eBay and online stores,I probably make two or three buys a week for cheap and sales tax free. Lots of repair parts, books, toys, antiques, tools, trees, gadgets and what nots that are all less money than local. Some stuff can not match local with shipping........so I buy local.Saving a buck is saving a buck. I can buy 2013 expiration dated Campbell Chicken Noodle soup... cheaper than Wall*Nards best sale day price. Case lot(48cans),free shipping! |
