Quick question for the quick board, can't find my repair manual and the phone browser isn't search friendly.

Just got a new tire for the M2 and now need to reassemble things, and would like the torque specs for the following:
1. Main front axle nut.
2. Four smaller bolts, two on the end of each fork leg perpendicular to the axle.
3. Brake caliper bolts, two main ones with the hex recessed (Allen) heads.
4. and probably for the small brake pad retainer screw and the little end cap screw to secure the retainer screw.

Answers or links are fine. Thanks in advance for any assistence. In the mean time I'll just use the calibrated elbow and get them hopefully snug enough.
( I'd try to post a smiley but my phone would probably explode or lock-up in the process.) B-)

The calibrated elbow it is then.

Oh well, long week and it is only Wednesday.

Why don't you use the values from the S1 manual here on BadWeb instead of guessing.

I didn't log on last night or I would have provided these for you. Sorry I don't have my service manual with me now. I just did all this recently, too bad I can't remember any of them.

Know what's worse than finding the answer just a little too late?

I posted the same question on the big, bad&dirty board, got a prompt answer and went out to the garage to find my torque wrench was too small for the values.

Calibrated arm engaged!

(Wheel hasn't fallen off yet)

Hi Jim,

I recall that some of the torques changed between the S1's and the fat tanked M2's, but I might be wrong. Plus that web manual doesn't play well with my phone.

I'll see if I can get keyboard time on the computer tonight and open up the link. Thanks for the link, appreciated.

Mike

edit: two minutes after I posted I went to find the torque wrenches and in the process I found the S2's repair manual. Good to go. Thanks again.

pps: Nate, I see you still have that X1 hanging from the tree, you really should let it down from the branches and take it for a ride. 8-)

Thank you. A little different than what's in the S2 manual, but close. I'll write these for the M2 in the S2 book as a reference.
