Anyone here have an insurance policy that allows them to insure five or more bikes? I picked up another Buell over the weekend, and Progressive wouldn't let me insure it until I dropped one of my others. I plan on having another on the road this summer, so that will bring my total to 6, and thats not even factoring in a EBR bike purchase. Are there any companies that want my business?

I'm through State Farm (oops),they have a max of 4 per policy. With five bikes I have 2 policies.

What a dumb policy. I wonder what their reasoning is? It seems like a bad business. You pay the premiums for X number of bikes, but it's not like you're going to crash all of them at once. Theft or damage in storage is the only potential risk I see.

Nittanyxt, thats what Progressive wanted me to do, setup a second policy. I didn't have the time to futz around and do that, so I dropped my Blast from the plan, and being that it doesn't run it isn't a big deal this second.

Jumbo, it looks like I will need to deal with a live person (uggg) in order to get a quote and other information, so I will have to figure out a time to do that. Gieco will only let you add 3 over the website, so I will have to give them a buzz too to see if they will insure more than 3.

I agree. The thing that bugs me is that if I make a second policy, I don't have a multibike discount on the 5th bike. Currently the multibike discount was enough that they pay me to insure my Blast. One of my buddies just added a new ATV to his plan, and Progressive ended up sending him a $8 refund check.

Have you checked with Farm Bureau? In NC they put all vehicles on one policy, but I don't know if they put any limits on any. I've only had 4 bikes on at 1 time.

Simple answer... Buy more cycles to fill up the second plan.

I have no problems with Progressive but I am NOT making any payments on any of them and am only asking for State-mandated minimums with NO collision and damage.

Just called Gieco, even with a 5th bike they are only about a hundred bucks more a year than what I am paying now for Progressive, so I pulled the trigger. They said they can put up to 9 bikes on the same policy, so I got room to grow! : )

I was going to say Geico. Let us go to 10. And they let you get another policy too. Larry

Surplus line policy rider with a named value assessment.
I have used Grundy for the Hot Rods when I had them, their rates are significantly less than the 'commuter' policies.

Give them a call - I do not know if they do limits on bikes, but they covered both of mine in Washington (remember insurance does vary state by state)

First...what'd you buy??

Second, I'm with progressive. Second policy was dirt simple to set up and having them organized 3/2, I get multibike on everything.

Dairyland had a limit of 3 also, back a few years ago when I checked. It does seem silly.

XL- I've not had his problem, but one day aspire to- I was wondering why some insurers would limit the # of bikes one could insure under one policy.

Just trying to grok the ways a big policy would work... interesting that the ATV fella added one and started getting rebates!

I use geico also and have 4 bikes on 1 policy. Progressive was $136 a month for my zx10r alone so i dropped them and geico is insuring all 4 bikes with comprehensive for $100.00 a month for all 4. What a deal!!

Here is my current policy, I am going to tweak it a bit to save some cash, like dropping collision on the air cooled bikes, given that I can't do $500 in damage to the Blast short of pretzeling it.

The grand total isn't much higher than I was paying for 4 bikes on Progressive, but Prog wanted half what Gieco wants for the 06 XB and the Blast, while they wanted double for the R and CR, so it balanced out.

Why would I do something so stupid? They are the only bikes I own that are worth anything, and the only ones I own that are fun! : D

After looking at those numbers, people still questions why i say to get Blast as a commuter bike.
