Whew.

PJTV Trifecta and the Trayvon Martin Case

Whittle brings up the point that when the Hassan shooting in Texas killed our soldiers while chanting "Allu Akbar", President Obama went on television and said "that we should not jump to conclusions."

When are Obama supporters going to admit the truth that Obama is unqualified and DIVISIVE.

how many people have heard the call from Zimmerman to 911? If you would just listen to the tapes of his phone call, which the jury will when the case goes to court, then I think everybody will understand why it was a murder.

If you have not heard the 911 call tapes, don't bother responding! You clearly don't know what your talking about!

Exclamation points do not prove anything. It is virtually impossible for there to be a fair trial thanks to the hate mongers and mob rule.

I have not made up my mind as there are two sides to the story, friend.

Cyclone, why do you try to silence people? It is unbecoming, evidence of a closed mind, and highly emotional.

+1 to the truth needing to come out.
The whole situation is shining a light on the application of the "stand your ground" law. It's a good law in theory but it can easily be abused when one of the parties doesn't survive and there isn't a lot of evidence or witnesses. The survivor just has to claim self-defense.
There was a case recently where a man chased down a thief and stabbed him to death. The thiefs lethal weapon; the stolen car stereo in a sack.
Again, a good law in theory but it shouldnt be used lightly. In the Zimmerman Martin case it might be justified but it should get closer scrutiny. There are aligations that the initial investigation wasn't handled correctly, that Zimmerman and the witnesses weren't questioned properly. Of course with all the grandstanding on race and incomplete or incorrect reporting it's hard to tell how much is truth and how much is hearsay. Hopefully an investigation will prove whether Zimmerman was justified or if not.

The information is coming out. Just not the way that some people like. It is backing up the original outcome of the original investigation. There is both physical evidence as well as the testimony of several witnesses in this case. All that has been released to this point mesh well with Zimmerman's story. Two witnesses disagree with the conclusion they come to. They claim to have heard the cries for help and assume it was Martin crying for help. They ONLY heard it though. What they heard fits will with another who say and heard it claiming it was Zimmerman being beaten and crying for help.

I'm yet to see anything credible that lends any credence to the idea that it was anything but self defense.

Your story of someone chasing down and killing a thief has little to do with a "stand your ground" law.

Zimmerman had his nose broken and was underneath Martin having his head beaten on the sidewalk. I see nothing unreasonable at all in this situation with doing ANYTHING to stop the attack.

How many hits of your skull against the concrete would you allow before considering lethal force?

And BTW, BO by sticking his nose in this does taint the ability to get a fair trial.

Reminds me of "I don't know anything about the case, but the cops behaved stupidly". Race played a roll in that one too. When you see a pattern develop, there is likely a reason.

Actually Sifo, the story was relevant to "stand-your-ground." That was the law cited for his defense and he got off.

In the midst of the Trayvon Martin controversy, Miami-Dade Circuit Judge Beth Bloom has cited Florida's controversial Stand Your Ground law to drop charges against Greyston Garcia after he fatally stabbed a car radio thief in Little Havana on January 25th. Though, Garcia apparently initiated the violence, never called police, hid the knife, and then later sold two of the car radios the man had stolen.

At least in this case the guy killed was actually breaking the law. But still the whole thing was shady as hell and the guy walks because he said the thief swung the bag at him. The only reason I brought it up is that it's a recent and prime example of how this law can be abused. I've heard reports that justifiable homicide has as much as tripled since the law was passed, a quick google search says it's doubled.

Hmmm maybe Zim wasn't a saint either. However the third example is stupid.

The three incidents took place in Orange County, Fla.

In 2005, Zimmerman, then 20, was arrested and charged with “resisting officer with violence” and “battery of law enforcement officer,” both which are third-degree felonies. The charge was reduced to “resisting officer without violence” and then waived when he entered an alcohol education program. Contemporaneous accounts indicate he shoved an officer who was questioning a friend for alleged underage drinking at an Orange County bar.

In August 2005, Zimmerman’s ex-fiancee, Veronica Zuazo, filed a civil motion for a restraining order alleging domestic violence. Zimmerman counterfiled for a restraining order against Zuazo. The competing claims were resolved with both restraining orders being granted.

In December 2006, Zimmerman was charged with speeding. The case was dismissed when the officer failed to show up in court.

Let me say again though that I think the law is great in theory but in practice it can be easily exploited. So anytime it is used then it should be scrutinized before the case is settled.

OH and once again if Zimmermans story is true. Forensics will easily exonerate him.

a bullet from that range would cause quite a bit of blow back. Zimmerman should have been covered in his own blood and Treyvons. Also most likely at that range he would have had to pess the gun up to him causing a muzzle stamp. Either way the path of the bullet should tell if Treycon was banging his head against the ground when being shot.

This was in response to an E-mail I received to try and get me to sign a petition on their behalf.

Tracy Martin and Sybrina Fulton

My condolences to you on the loss of you son, no parent should ever bury their child. I understand your pain , frustration and anger.

This is my problem and the e mail I received from you has put an exclamation on it. The information that I have read has the incident happening without eye witnesses. Yes there was the young lady on the cell phone then the other lady that heard crying. That being said the only two people who really know what happened that night are your son and Mr. Zimmerman. Unfortunately only Mr. Zimmerman can tell his side of the story. According to Florida State Law Mr. Zimmerman was armed legally and if he actually feared for his life he acted within the Laws of the State of Florida. Whether the threat was real or perceived the law allows the use of deadly force. Was Mr. Zimmerman's actions correct, justifiable or wrong. That is for a thorough fair and impartial investigation, trial and possible jury to decide.

The media circus that is being generated, the actions of the Sanford City Commission toward the Chief of Police and City Manager Bonaparte are hindering the Judicial process.

We have all seen the pictures of Trayvon in his football uniform and the one in the white hoodie. It would be a guess that the football picture he was no older than 10 or 11 years old, the picture in the hoodie 13 or 14 years old. Why are we not seeing more recent pictures of him? He was in a Gated Community and from information available to the public did have have verbal concourse with Mr. Zimmerman. After that it is all speculation. Some bad and very tragic decisions were made that night . Let the police do their job.

Sincerely

Mike Shimandle

Bill (XB1125R),

You are WAY out of line. We don't tolerate hateful epithets like you seem to enjoy tossing out. Leave the emotional hate-filled outbursts off of BadWeB please. Surely you are capable of communicating thoughtfully in simple non-inflammatory words. Fact is that it's nothing but a tragedy. Wise up.

Mike,

There was indeed an eye-witness to the attack, no not to the shooting.

Odd that they claim Garcia to have initiated the violence in the first paragraph then fill in details later with...

"Garcia decided to chase after Roteta with a knife, and caught up to him. Roteta swung the bag of radios at Garcia's head. Garcia blocked the bag, and then countered by lunging a knife in Roteta's chest."

Sounds to me like Roteta initiated the violence when he swung at Garcia with the bag of radios. Again it may not be wise to chase after a thief, armed or not, but I don't think that violates any laws. I also don't see it as initiation of violence. Apparently the judge in this case agrees with me. The reporter seems to have an agenda with the facts IMO.

And who says he wasn't. I have little doubt that the homicide detectives are familiar with various gun shot scenarios and examined all this evidence in the initial evidence. I've seen zero evidence that they ignored any of this. All I see are people who are unhappy with where the evidence lead.

Show of hands. Who here has been physically attacked and injured by someone of superior physical strenght and aggression?

Pushing, shoving, grabassing as kids does not count. I'm talking scary, for real laceration, bleeding, damaging attack stuff.

In May of 1969, I hitch hiked from Boston to Los Angeles. when I arrived in LA, I was traveling with two friends who joined me in Albuquerque. The Jackass who gave us a ride from Flagstaff to LA dropped us off in the worst part of town at 10:30 PM; since none of the three of us had been to LA, we didn't know where we were. We were walking down the street when a group of locals appeared from seemingly nowhere, and they acted friendly and interested until one of them hit me on the back of my head with a wine bottle. He hit me a second time on the temple, when I didn't collapse immediately. They beat us mercilessly until one shouted, "Here comes the Man!" then they scattered like cockroaches. The three of us spent the night in the hospital, and we left the next day. The incident happened at the corner of 6th and Anderson streets, and the only reason it happened was because we were white.
Now, what was the question?
