What was the total cost? It's going to be hard to unseat my $24 halogen driving lights in terms of performance but the 110W power draw limits how many heated doo-dads I can run. | ||

The lens designs for these LED lamps is quite complicated if you want a beam that actually works well. Currently on E-Bay (item number: 370587349373) somebody is selling some 10W led projector beam lamps, no idea if they actually put the light out there where you can use it. Looks like it uses the LEDs noted above...... | ||

To be honest,I mainly ride in the day time,so I can't really speak to how effective they are at night.My interest in auxiliary lighting is to keep the idiot drivers from pulling out in front of me while they text,read the newspaper or talk on the phone. And for that,the LED's are great.Everyone comments on how bright they are. | ||

Yeah...but I need actual light output for my CR, in a low-draw unit. Living in deer country, all my vehicles have aux lights on them except the S1W (loud as hell though so the deer tend to stay away) and the CR. I'd go for some Motolights on the CR just because of the clean mounting, and convert them to LED, if I thought I'd get useful light. I already have an HID low beam, but the beam-spread isn't really to my liking... | ||

Rat,the standard Motolight led's have a 10 degree beam spread and draw 3.3w per bulb.The narrow beam is used to throw more light down the road.Motolight also has a high output led that uses a 25 degree beam spread and draws 3.5w per.They are not cheep at $109 a pair for the standard and $129 a pair for the high output. I was using the 35w halogen MR16's in the Motolights and couldn't run my heated gear,Polly heaters and the lights at the same time.For that matter,I couldn't run just two accessories at the same time. | ||

If you are looking for visibility I feel the yellow light stands out better than the white. Unfortunately, at night the yellow doesn't 'light up' things, like deer, as well as the white light does. | ||

I got a 24watt dim able flood and a 10wat spot for my Uly and am pleased. they flood the ddm hid out they work so good. My lights are no longer offered but he sells brighter ones now, the 44 and 60 offer more light than both mine combined and he also sells 30watt spots. not inexpensive but they work great. get the heavy duty brackets too as a Buell will fatigue the ordinary ones. I like mine because I can run em all at the same time with my heated jacket liner and see the critters in the ditches. | ||

These are inexpensive and kick butt. http://www.ddmtuning.com/Product-Categories/LED-Bu lbs-Lights/RV-ATV-Marine They have more too, just look around. I have a set of 1350 lumen led spots on the Uly and I'm very happy with them so far. They are bright! During the day, they are all I use. |
