Snorkel setup is pretty much done. Might go down to the Jeep today and notch out my hood so it can shut. Just need to clean it up a bit and paint it. I might just have it powdercoated though.
How are those injectors working out? Have you been tracking the gas mileage?
Jeep runs and idles great... gas mileage still sucks Getting about 13 to 14 mpg
still working toward the winch. Diehard installed at Sears.... and then I got to re-install it once I got home. I was checking the cables and the neg. terminal came off as if it had never been tightened down. Lazy ass kids! How hard is it to remove a little lead so the clamp will fit snug.
Anybody got a good line on a 1999 Dodge Durango Steering Gear box? The one on the jeep started to leak and from what I understand the '99 Durango gear box is a direct swap and a lot beefier.
@ Jim. Looking good! I like it pointing backwards. A little less likely to grab a tree!
Glitch that is funny as hell. You have too much imagination.....or time!
Hey Jim, that looks great. People will probably wonder for a long time about the snorkel top being aimed back. Makes sense to me, you can't get much ram air affect through five feet of pipe at 7 to 12 miles per hour on the trails!
Now I need to go buy a new socket to get the pitman arm nut off... 1 5/16 is what it takes in standard... Just my luck, I have 1 1/4 and 1 3/8.... meh, trip to Sears wont be all that bad
I just changed my pitman arm the other week, yes you WILL need a puller for that.
Dropped the Jeep off at the driveshaft maker-upper shop this morning, should have it back next week. On the way there I stopped by my friend's exhaust shop to get a quote. 2.5" stainless dual exhaust with 2 Flowmaster 40 series mufflers for 600 bucks. Now comes the REAL spending money part of this project, driveshafts, exhaust and tires. Yea me.
Thanks Glitch! I've been pulling excess wires today. Almost have all of the interior painted and ready to go in. Anyone know where to get some cheap black carpet? Mine is a total loss. I haven't put much money into it yet, all my mods so far were either free or cost me a couple of beers! Sorry to hijack ya'lls thread. I'm just so happy with my tdt (thousand dollar truck)!
I've had it in my rig for almost ten years - - better sound insulation, heat reduction, protects wires run along the floorboards, and doesn't fade like most self-applied textures... Of course, YMMV, but this works for me - - and I can still spray it out with a hose when it's filthy...
