i already took that mirror off as soon as i unloaded it, lol. the guy handed me the right hand mirror and said he took it off, but i could have it if i wanted to put it back on. i took it, but told him id probably take the left one off to. he says "well i think legally you have to have atleast one mirror..." i said "yep your right, not that i really care... why have mirrors and turn signals on my offroadish bike when most of my other streetbikes dont." |

Dang. Having ridden with you, maniac, at the last BTF, I for one am SKEEERRED. Jealous, too! Once had a buddy who rode an XR200R (WAAAAY back), that thing looked like it was designed for hooligans. This is 2012. Good luck. |

Very very nice, I wouldn't have pegged you as someone how would be into these/this brand bike. I'd take one. I actually really want an SM or Enduro. KTM EXC450, new, rub the knobbies off, and then SM it. |

Dude, your license is toast! I'm too cheap for a nice shiny one like that, so I built my own:

I doubt your ass would last all day on that hard seat pan... I've got a piece of foam to stick on there once I get it painted, though. That'll probably be more comfortable than an S1 seat! rt |

i like the ktm's and always thought i wanted one, but having been around enough friends and family that keep blowing up their's and then fighting to get parts(this one will take some chasing too...), i couldnt convince myself to get one. RT, i would have tons of fun on yours! Having ridden with you, maniac, at the last BTF, I for one am SKEEERRED. oh come one, im not that spooky to ride with lol. but now i can really haul ass on those park trails!!! if only the 1125r had this much suspension travel! there will be a bit of a learning curve with this bike all the way around. the suspension will take a ton of sorting to get it adjusted right!} |

AWESOME! A friend of mine around Omaha bought one of those a few years ago.. definitely not an easy bike to stay out of trouble on. I'm still mulling over a few ideas on what way to go about building a set of SM running gear for my DR-Z400S. I have a set of cast wheels that will work, but require machined spacers and won't run the gear driven speedo. I'm leaning toward picking up a second pair of stock hubs, buying 17" hoops, and lacing my own wheels. |

PK, I did that with my DRZ400. There is some helpful tech on Thumper Talk about how to do it. Unless you buy a wheel kit that is bolt on, you need access to a machine shop. I used a front wheel from a GS500 and the rear wheel from a GSX400 with a sprocket hub from a GS500. You need to change the bearings, make bearing spacers, wheel spacers, machine down the sprocket hub quite a bit. You need a rear brake hanger from an RM250 and that will need subsantial mods. you also need to mod the brake stay on the swing arm, and build or buy a custom caliper hanger for the front. You end up with a GS/GSXR style front disc, 3" wide front wheel, 4 ' wide rear wheel suitable for 110/70 front and 150/60 rear tires. I used Pilot Power. A bolt in wheel kit costs around $1,200.00 or if you are really lucky, you can find a set of stock DRZ400SM wheels. I went with the GS wheels to get tubeless wheels. |
