Don't get TOO excited. He was hired to do some testing for them. I guess getting as much input as possible is a good thing, especially from someone like Jake. http://www.superbikeplanet.com/2012/Mar/120320c.ht m |

What an offensive article. They compare Jake to a medieval mercenary, and then back that up with the fact that he's working for EBR for money. As if they're not working at their job for money. Ass hats. |

If you think medieval mercenary's are cool... it's freakin awesome.

I absolutely refuse to go to the stupid bike website. From the sounds of Hoot's post, their Buell hate continues... |

Wow how can you stay on Badweb if you think THAT Superbikeplanet article was offensive?!? Far from it. |

Stupid bike has a history of Buell hate. Badweb, for the most part, is generally full of people that "get it" about Buell... lol |

I believe their "beef" was with HD and the somewhat favoritism that some believed Buell had gotten in a couple different instances. Anything on EBR has been favorable which is nice. I still can't figure out how that article is found to be offensive. |

Read it again. First they define 'freelance'. Emphasis mine. "The term "Freelancer" comes originally from the novel Ivanhoe and is generations old. It originally referred to independent knights who sold their allegiance to the highest bidder, meaning that their lance was free to impale pretty much anyone they felt like skewering, presumably." And then... "American Jake Zemke is doing some freelancing today in Florida. The Ducshop Ducati rider is, according to team sources, doing a bit of freelance development riding for the Buell team in exchange for money." Isn't the obvious take-away that Jake sells his allegiance to the highest bidder? Why even mention money? Most people trade their time and expertise for money. That's the very definition of working for a living. Ass hats. |

"Some people can read their own prejudices into ANYTHING they read." Some people can. I don't. You're implying that I'm prejudiced. Against what or whom in this case? I don't know the author, and have no preconceived notions about what he or she may write about, or what their opinion might be about any particular subject. Perhaps you selected the wrong word? The article says what it says. I added nothing except emphasis for clarity. It is intuitively obvious to even the most casual observer that the article was intended as a snub. |

We all know what freelance means. Why go through the trouble of defining it unless you are trying to directly equate the actions of an individual with your specific example of what freelance means? Massively obvious. |

It sounded like an article with an agenda to me, but it may be just there to help Zemke cover his behind with his other team...
quote:Look guys, I'm not trying to jump ship, and I still feel the love for the Duck's, I'm just doing a side gig for some pizza money.
Kinda like when that high school girlfriend told us "don't be silly, he's just a friend!". (Note for the reality impaired... I made that quote up. I didn't make up the girlfriend part though.) |

While I'll agree stupid bike planet is generally written by jerk offs for jerk offs, there was nothing negative to take away from that article. The author was just channeling his inner Dennis Miller with obscure references. Stupid bike planet has created an anti-Buell/EBR stance with their past articles, so people are naturally gonna see that EBR hate, weather it's real or perceived. I have ruled, end of discussion/ squabbling. |
