I mean would it be fair to say that it's anybody's race? I know Hayes rides like a machine, but it's a little different on race day I'd imagine. |

Well not the best starting position for the race but we still have 2 bikes in the race and that is awesome! |

Danny had smoking segments on all but segment 4. If he can put that together, we are close to a podium. |

Well, if they're killing it in the tight sections they should do well in future races on tighter tracks. |

Hard to tell for sure from the track map, but I think that's the case. And those segment differences might just come down to how you are playing the draft... meaning the qualifying times don't mean squat once the race starts... I'm sure people aren't using their best tricks yet to either get or avoid getting drafted. |

I'm "HOPING" that when the racing starts our guys can keep the leaders in site and chase them like a dog after a rabbit. I know from the little bit of racing I did... I always rode faster if I had someone I was trying to catch. The problem I had was getting around them once I got there!! |

No Panhead, but honest mistake, its confusing. Look at the upper right corner, it shows the checkered flag, meaning the session is now complete. They have the detailed reports up now: http://results.amaproracing.com/live/results/pdfre sults/rr/2012/R1205/default.aspx And look for "qualifying 2", and pick the report you want... for example: http://results.amaproracing.com/xml/rr/events/R120 5/sbq2ind.pdf (individual segment times) |

Eslick's problem when he catches them, is how to get their paint off his bike after the race. |

fighting tooth and nail to get through perhaps the most challenging race weekend of the entire season Bill I have to disagree with that statement. This is not the 200. The 600's for some dumb reason get that race. For the life of me its should be Superbike. But in all honesty all the races are the most challenging and should and bet are treated in that fashion by all teams if they want to win. EBR in my thoughts is going to be a learning year. First full season with the 1190. Also Eslick has a learning curve himself. Superbike is way different then Sportbike. I'm thinking he may get much much better as the season progresses. I feel the same way with Yamaha's Josh Herrin. Not to mention the team still has to jell. The race time enviroment will help that. Its going to be a amazing season to watch for sure. New riders, new teams and I'm thinking the racing is going get much closer and closer just like Sportbike has been. |

Is there a chance that Erik asked them to dial it back a bit once they secured a starting position? That fast lap by Hayes was a screamer, but what kind of stress is that putting on the bikes? |

A fair point to argue. My thoughts were two fold. First, it is the first race of the season. So it is where you discover the million mistakes you made that will, for the rest of the season, be obvious in hindsight. Secondly, I am guessing (perhaps incorrectly) that between the banking, the track surface, and the long straights that Daytona is the hardest on tires, motor, and suspension. The 200 is worse for sure. And in fact I bet thats the very reason they have the 200 racing the 600's, they aren't sure they have a tire for the 1000's that could finish. I meant this race will be EBR's hardest race of the season, not that EBR's race will be harder than the 200 race. Fun to speculate about and bench race... I won't argue that I am necessarily right. |

Bill...Daytona was refinished so the tires will probably fare a bit better then past years for sure but the banking does no favors to any tire. As far as the 600 tire compared to the 1000's ??? The 1000's used to own that race. I fact when the factory teams were running 1/4 million dollar bikes. I'd sat tire are not a factor they just manage the tire differently then race DOT's. The 600's got the race because they wanted the class to change the premier class after they shit canned FX. My thoughts?? Love the class.... but Superbike is getting much more attention right now.lol |

Daytona is very bumpy and a really surface. It is the worst track in the country to run an 1190RS on Today's performance was excellent. |

Dannys bike dropped a valve also? So two valves went during one weekend (him and Higbee)?? Well hope they get it sorted and he races today! |
