Bill Whittle can get a lot in in under 10 minutes! I really don't get progressives at all sometimes. I just saw BO calling conservatives "flat Earthers". I'm way beyond just not liking a leader who purposefully divides the country. I've made honest attempts to discuss issues with progressives, and have almost never had even an attempt at rationally explaining their views in a way that makes any sense at all. Often it's just that they believe what they believe regardless of any facts. Way too often they flat out lie about what the facts are. I guess this shouldn't surprise me in the slightest. It come right from the top and works it's way down. I've reached a point where BO's words are completely lost on me. He is completely disrespectful to those who don't share his beliefs. He is unwilling to strike compromise. He is unwilling to have honest debate on topics that matter. F*** him, I just want him gone at this point. I've given ample opportunity to be convinced of the progressives positions. The path forward is clear. I recommend not getting in the way. History will not look kindly on this period. |

I remember freedom. Seems like a long time ago, though. |

Thanks for posting that, Tom. It seems so obvious, but the folks in Washington make it so difficult. They have forgotten that WE are in charge. Heck, most of US have forgotten that we are in charge. This election will tell the tale. I hope we can find our way back to the sweet spot. FB |

Fb1, you keep harping on about "This election." As if you expect anything to change as a result of it. All I see in the paltry offerings is more status quo. I don't hope for change from Obama at this point, but I don't see any hope for change with any other of the sock-puppets put up for the public's Punch and Judy show. Except for Paul, who is a nut jobber as well, but at least he is the only one going for the jugular of what this country can and cannot afford to do. Newt? Career inside-the-beltway, same old same old. Mitt? blowing with the wind, power-hungry for its own sake, out of touch, no backbone of ideals whatsoever, and even more of a pushover for the real moneyed power behind the scenes than Obama or the others. As for Whittle, yes there is poverty in this country, and it's a deep, spiritual poverty, that only makes a lack of money make you feel even emptier. It is a poverty that makes those barefoot water-buffalo farmers billionaires in comparison. Why do you think so many clung to an idea of Hope and Change? Otherwise, no prob with this video of his. Often, he is too contemptuous in his way of expressing, too snide, and it undermines what he is trying to say. You won't get any of the freedoms that Whittle touts back by electing any of the current lineup of front-running non-leaders put out there by the Republican party. It just won't happen. Other stuff has to change - the people have to change. You have to channel the power of the people who are fired up, be it by a Tea Party or an Occupy movement. You have to demand more from our representatives, and force that old system of checks and balances to go to work to accomplish what you are aiming for. It sure would help to have someone like Ron Paul in the oval office, who would not cringe at wielding the veto pen, while over on Capitol Hill, it would be great to have a Congress not beholden to the money, and not afraid to follow their consciences, even if it were against their self-interest. Where can those people come from? Nowhere - they will not show up.... Unless the people are active, and activist. And sorry if I am answering in the wrong thread, but you really can't swing a dead cat around on the Quick Board anymore without hitting some politics. So I just hit it here, and spilled my (cat) guts. |

Fahren, thanks for your thoughtful post. I know how long it takes to type thoughts into words, and I appreciate your time. I object to a couple of words you used - harping and nut jobber - but no biggie, that's just me. I agree that Mr. Whittle is a little "snide" at times, and I don't care much for it either, but using words like harping and nut jobber strike me as kind of the same. That's my problem, I guess, just wanted to get it off of my chest. As for the rest of your post? I AGREE WITH YOU 100%!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Dude, home run verbiage as far as I'm concerned; you've got my vote. I agree, we've got more problems than Mr. Obama, but he, in my opinion, is our most pressing problem right now, due to his policies and rampant destruction of our Constitution. Please keep in mind this is just one man's opinion, but I sure don't offer it up lightly. I really, really like Ron Paul. Why? Well, for the reasons you said, plus many more. He ALWAYS sides with the Constitution (you watch, someone's gonna prove me wrong on that...). From what I've studied about the guy, even his political adversaries on the left admire and respect the man, because he never wavers from his constitutional beliefs. I'm not trying to convince anyone to vote for Mr. Paul; this is not a campaign ad. I'm simply agreeing with Fahren that we need a leader in the White House who is honest and patriotic beyond reproach, someone who will put We The People's interests before his or her own interests, a president who, when he/she says, "I feel your pain" you know they really mean it. Do I see anyone who fits this description in this year's election? Well, I do in Mr. Paul, but he's got a very, very small chance of being elected. So, looking at the other R candidates, do I see our salvation? No, I don't, I mostly see wanna-be rock stars. But.........at this point I'll take ANYONE but Obama. After that, we can ALL work on the next step of returning this country to its Constitutional roots. Thanks again Fahren. FB |

PS: you really can't swing a dead cat around on the Quick Board anymore without hitting some politics. Careful, some arsehole started a "Harley-Davidson" thread tonight, too. At least they had the decency to put a warning label on it...

IMHO everyone should subscribe to Ron Paul's "Texas Straight Talk." available via his congressional web site. |

You're not alone! It's election time here too, & sad to say but the only candidate with any sort of credible honesty is Marine LePen of the far right. As an example, we had a tragedy in Toulouse yesterday, a serial killing gunman targeted a Jewish school & shot dead 3 kids & a teacher. The President who is also a candidate shut down his campaign & went to the scene. As did his front-running lefty rival. Neither of them had any business there, all they were doing was grabbing a photo-op especially the socialist contender. I found it disgusting. Marine LePen the Front Nationale leader said the same thing. I can't agree with a lot of her policies but her honesty is a breath of fresh air. Just to add another dispiriting note, the next village has a "Place Barack OBAMA" it's the parking area for the Church, make of that what you will. I need to go find an island somewhere so I can be my own prime minister, I could even grant myself diplomatic immunity from my own speeding tickets. |
