I am enroute to Daytona when I break the front muffler support band. I call COCHISE in Rogers AR and he shorts through his Buell stash but no part then he gets me the phone numbers for two Harley dealers that are on my route but again no part. I stop at the O'rlies store in Neosho MO and the staff there help me get two screw bands to replace my broken band. On to Vicksburg MI. no part there either. On to Dothan AL the staff there at Harley Davidson & Buell of Dothan, AL. are great the Owner Dutch has three personal Buells himsely and really likes to ride his Uly. The General Manager Alan Levy has a personal Buell and one of the service guys rides a Buell as well. We arrive there after closing hours on Saturday and the owner and General Manager and service staff are there waiting for us as one of the riders in our group cut his rear tire and needs a replacement. Well Alan checks his inventory for the muffler support band but none in stock so he checks the dealers on our route and he finds two dealers in Flordia that show they have one in stock so today we will check with one of the two Buell Dealers and see if they do indeed have one in stock. So far the two screw bands I put on in MO. are holding. Thank you Dutch & Alan at Harley Davidson & Buell of Dothan, AL. | ||

Are you looking for an XB series Front Muffler Strap? (Buell PN S1116.02A8) I have one sitting in my garage in N. Florida. (Jacksonville) If you need it, it's yours! You are much more likely to find one of those bands at a Marine Supply store, than a Harley dealers. Lot's of them in Florida. Natcherly, they only cost a small fraction of what the Motor Company charges. | ||

Buell of Dothan is a great dealer. I purchased both of my Buells from them in '05. Dutch is a great guy to talk with. Like you said he loves his Buells. | ||

I found the muffler band in Clear Water FL at the Harley Buell dealer there. The two screw bands I installed in MO are still holding but I want to change to the proper band once I get to Daytona. I am now in Key West and will be riding up to Daytona on Wednesday AM, I may have to buy some tools to make the change in the Days Inn motel parking lot. And thanks Chris for your offer I would have responded to you sooner but I did not have WIFI access yesterday.  | ||
