Ewwww B-King? I dunno, to me the looks of that thing is like the Pontiac Aztec of the motorcycle world. But some probably think that of Buells. |

I just bought one of these, a Yamaha Super Tenere XTZ1200
Wish my Uly did what this does. This thing is hell on wheels. Rips the corners pretty darn good for a 550lb bike, and plays in the dirt as well. Didn't do too bad in the snow today, the traction control light flashed on me a couple of times. |

Bart, I am eye balling the Super Tenere as well. Have you tried it 2 up yet? I am wondering about passenger comfort with it vs to BMW GS1200. |

I've been seriously considering the Super ten as well but I'm still leaning towards the Guzzi Stelvio. |

Any body around here still riding a Buell? Sold mine years ago. Riding a nice Ducati 999s now a days. Best bike ever I owned.

I saw one of those Super Tenere in person yesterday. Nice looking bike, a little pricey, but you get nice features for what you pay for. Have you dropped it yet? It looked like it could get expensive for a minor drop, but it's always hard to tell. |

One day the Buell world wakes up and realizes that not ALL brand new bikes can be had for $6k. Reminder: Buells were $13k before the great "fire sale". Expensive? LOL. You have much to learn. Built in contact points. Two sturdy bars just under the black plastic side covers and the hand guards. Just about every Tenere owner has had their bike "sleeping". Nature of the beast when you venture off the pavement. I have never heard of anyone talk about more than minor scratches in a tip over. Heck, this guy CRASHES and has virtually no damage! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0VLwA2pxpDI ac |

Still have the S2, and the 1125 in the garage, along with a Suzuki DR650 to keep the Yamaha company. So far, every mile travelled on this thing just makes the grin bigger!

Are there any comparisons between the Yamaha Super Tenere and the BMW GS1200 out there? I am majorly interested in both. Although I'm leaning towards the Tenere. Would like a good Adv bike that is good for 2 up touring or otherwise. No worries, plan to keep the 05 XB9SX and 08 1125R. |

"Are there any comparisons between the Yamaha Super Tenere and the BMW GS1200 out there?" Surely that is a joke and you are simply overwhelmed with the amount of comparisons a simple Google search returned. ac |

General consensus has the BMW as best on-road, the KTM as best off-road with the Yamaha as the best of both worlds. |

I bought a 2007 Uly with 10k miles for $5000 used. The Super Tenere looks like a nice bike. The Multi-strada looks like an even nicer bike. The HP2 looks like a bike I dream of. None of them, however, look like they would be worth $13k to $18k to me compared to a $5k Uly or a $3k KLR-650. I thought the Uly was about a $10k bike? Sure, you could run it up to $11.5k with hard luggage. Does the Super Tenere come with hard luggage at $13k? Or is actual selling price well below that? |

I paid $13,000 for my 2008 Uly, XB12XT, not cheap at all. I certainly didn't think it was worth the 13,000 after a year of ownership, and was glad to see it go. I hope this bike keeps the grins coming. Put almost 200 miles on it today, and am loving this bike more and more with every mile.

'09 XT w/ 8 miles purchased 16OCT09, $7941 OTD. This bike was definitely worth MSRP, but the demise of BMC allowed me to afford it that much sooner! I got her paid off about a month ago, and have no plans of getting rid of her any time soon. I've since parted ways with my beloved '02 X1, and can't say that I regret it. I traded her off for a well-modded low mileage '04 DR-Z400S and a pile of SuMo conversion parts. The X1 had more character, but riding that bike was a waste in central Missouri. I've gotten more enjoyment out of the DRZ in the past week than I did from the X1 in the past 6 months.

My S1 is still here. One bike that WILL never get sold. Sold my RS and bought a Triumph Trophy to replace it. Really like the 4cyl 1200. Got some get up n go for a 500lb ride. |

Oh, and don't get me wrong.. when I see a Super Tenere for $5000, I'll probably buy one. Though if I saw a MultiStrada for $7000, I'd but it also. And so help me, if I saw an HP2 for $10K, I would have a HARD time walking away... |

I wouldn't worry about having that money lying around. You are gonna need years and miles to go by before you see any of those bikes for those prices. I highly doubt Yamaha/Ducati/BMW are about to firesale the value right out from underneath their owners. ac |

I have several bikes, none of which are a replacement for my Buell, except my S2, which was a replacement for my X1. Long live Buell. |
