Al Lighton, Jerry Johnson, Sammy the ex-Marine, yours truly, and a host of other kooks invaded Ocotillo Wells with our dirtbikes this past weekend for the 50th anniversary of the "Tierra Del Sol" jeep event.
Didn't think about Obama the Worst all weekend. Pretty refreshing.
I don't think you can change anybody's mind. Only experience can. I went from Liberal to a right of center Conservative. All it took was time.
Nine State Attorneys General Cite 21 Illegal Actions by Obama Administration, 3/5/2012
“One of the ways in which attorneys general protect the integrity of state laws and constitutions is by carefully reviewing the actions of the federal government and responding when they break the law or overstep the bounds of the Constitution,” said the memo titled, “A Report on Obama Administration Violations of Law.”
It said, “Through the collective review by a committee of Attorneys General from nine of the 50 states, the group identified more than 21 illegal actions from this administration and is highlighting the effects of the federal overreach on our citizens and states.”
The state attorneys general who put the report together were Tom Horne of Arizona; Pam Bondi of Florida; Sam Olens of Georgia; Bill Schuette of Michigan; Scott Pruitt of Oklahoma; Marty Jackley of South Dakota; Alan Wilson of South Carolina; Greg Abbott of Texas; and Ken Cuccinelli, Virginia.
"The purpose of this report is to outline actions taken by this Administration that are violations of law,” it added.
“This group of nine Attorneys General will grow and continue to serve as a de facto ‘task force,’ assisting when possible to defend state laws and identifying ‘best practices’ and legal arguments to fight back against the Obama Administration’s illegalities in a more cohesive and effective manner,” the report said.
“The next election is critically important and as the states’ chief legal officers, the attorneys general will make a concerted effort to educate their states’ voters on the impacts that the Obama Administration’s legal violations have on their every day lives,” it added.
Didn't think about Obama the Worst all weekend. Pretty refreshing. But you should be worrying about Boxer and Feinstein. They keep chipping away at our access to these fun places. Places they've never been to, only flown over. Check out this website and subscribe to the e-mail notices. http://www.arra-access.com I've written to both senators and at least Feinstein has replied. Boxer couldn't care less what I think.
You guys "occupied" Ocotillo Wells, home of the Buelling Man, without me?!?
Hey, whatcha make of this:

Obama Administration Hires Lobbyist It Attacked In 2008 The Washington Free Beacon By Andrew Stiles, March 5, 2012
The Obama administration has hired former lobbyist Steve Ricchetti to serve as counselor to Vice President Joe Biden, Politico’s Mike Allen reports.
Ricchetti, who served as deputy chief of staff under President Bill Clinton, was a registered federal lobbyist for nearly a decade. In 2001, he founded Ricchetti, Inc., described as “one of the most successful and respected boutique government relations firms in Washington.”
“I am in this race to tell the corporate lobbyists that their days of setting the agenda in Washington are over,” Obama said on Nov. 10, 2007 in Des Moines, Iowa. “They have not funded my campaign, they will not run my White House, and they will not drown out the voices of the American people when I am president.”
Obama also promised voters “lobbyists won’t find a job in my White House,” a claim the nonpartisan watchdog website Politifact.com has rated a “promise broken.”
Mr. Obama, um, certainly flopped his position about the propriety of lobbyists in the White House. My questions are:
- Why?
- Why now?
- What has changed that would cause him to bring in such a huge hired-gun at this stage of the run-up to the election, knowing that he's on record as being against lobbyists in the White House?
At 9:30 into his speech at the Jefferson Jackson Fund Raising Dinner, Des Moines, Iowa, November 10th, 2007 (emphasis mine):
quote:
“I am in this race to tell the corporate lobbyists that their days of setting the agenda in Washington are over. I have done more than any other candidate in this race to take on the lobbyists, and I have won. They have not funded my campaign, they will not work in my White House, and they will not drown out the voices of the American people when I am president!”
The man lacks integrity; he's a pathological liar, so this is just another case of him breaking his word, just par for his course for him.
You know that.
I know that.
Our job is to open the eyes of the folks who DON'T know that.
We're not just singing to the choir here. Folks who voted for Mr. Obama follow these threads. They may not post, but they're following along. Our job is to pull back the blinds, to cause an "Aha!" moment here and there.
November is bearing down on us like a fast freight, and we need every single vote we can get.
I spent a fair amount of time putting his lobbyist quotes and the YouTube clip together. It's not for me, and it's not for you.
It's for people who think we're making all this stuff up.
Thanks FB.You are doing a great job.I hope some eyes are opened.I am worried. If our elected officials just followed the constitution I would not fret, but it seems new rules are written as (the Obama administration)they see fit.No matter if they violate our constitution or not.

I'm registered unaffiliated/independent. I have voted for both Republicans and Democrats in the past. I voted for President Obama in 2008, and while I may not agree with everything he's done, there's no way I would vote for any of the clowns the Republicans have put forward so far. The 2012 GOP primaries have been an embarrassment to our nation.

They did account for the frame work of a working government that empowered the people
I agree mostly with your words and fully with your sentiment, but my take is that the Constitution belongs to the sovereign, i.e. the people.
WE own the Constitution, and WE decide what is constitutional.
Our government, as created by the Founders, are agents of the sovereign. We empower THEM, not the other way around.
I think we're saying the same thing.
Take care, FB"
We are thinking along parallel tracks. The Constitution does belong to us, but we the People do not rule on constitutionality. That would be the Court(s) of Appeal up to and including the Supreme Court. Democracy vs republic.
Never said the government empowered We the People, but do believe the founding documents do. We in turn empower the government through our will or indifference, or a bit of both. I think we're in the same room.
I'm am far from exited about the candidates put forth to oppose BO........but if they are "clowns" what exactly does that make BO and Joe "six-pack" Biden???

Hi Julie, thanks for joining the fray. A couple of questions if I may?
- Can I assume from your statement above that you're going to vote for Mr. Obama again? If so, I'd be interested in hearing your reasons why he has earned your vote again.
- You called the Republican candidates "clowns" and the GOP primaries an "embarrassment to our nation." Can you be more specific on both of these points?

- President Obama has my vote because he is not one of the clowns in the GOP primaries.
- Watch any of the GOP 2012 primary debates and you will see how embarrassing these people are. The only one that I could possibly support would be Dr. Ron Paul, but there's no way he'll get the Republican nomination.
I know how you feel. I spent 2 hours with Eric Holder the other day.
The guy is ill educated, untruthful (his bold face lies before Congress are nearly comical) and it became clear to me that he's out of touch with realty and the law.
As he spoke, he made it clear that every problem this administration has had has been someone else's fault.
I can't wait to get my Black Anti-Obama Magic Marker. It is for placing an X over the Obama/Pepsi logo. (actually any marker will do) I wonder if Pepsi will change their logo after O is gone? I am also tired of seeing just one candidate in Google ads. Can't wait till the real campaign starts, gonna be a bashfest. Gonna love when I see the left tv news goobers cringe when Obama looses.
