Had a new one of these under the seat... and thought.. what the hey... I'll install it and see if some of the vibes go away... When I started to unbolt it... it sprung back.. I tried again... WACK... back to the starting point.... FINALLY the rubber ripped and it started to back out. Just a FYI, Before I started to take it apart, it looked fine.
WELL NO SHIT!! It feels like a new bike
Installed a new to me clutch pack and the wheelie was back on!!
Where do you keep your bearings?? Why next to the frozen corn and deer meat! 2010 wheel will be going on in short order

Thanks for posting that. I wondered if there was ever value in replacing that part proactively. Mine appears fine, but took a pretty hard shot in the accident, and the bike is not as smooth at speed as it used to be. I'll have to get a new one to put on the shelf for a rainy day... |

How many miles were on it and could landing after wheelies put extra stress on it? |

I had the same problem when mine failed. When the sleeve that rides in the rubber bushing corrodes and locks to the bolt, the wear gets accelerated. I put a lot of anti-seize on the new one.........and I re-anti-sleaze it each year. Yes, landing wheelies puts added stress on it. Thanks Wolf for reminding me to get a pound of ground venison out for dinner cookin. |

'bout 58,000 miles... and I'm sure wheelies and stoppies aren't the best thing to do to any part of the bike..... maybe thats why my fork seals started leaking.... |

I feel so.....special. I was with you when you blew your first seal. On our way to Daytona you did a wheelie down an entrance ramp to I40 near NewPort Tn. That was when I stopped to find out why my 'low fuel' light was on. My fuel pump wires were worn through to it's frame. We completed a great trip though! Cold sombich, but great trip! Antisieze is your friend on that mount bolt for sure. |
