You aren't supposed to wash jeans anymore. You are supposed to freeze them. It's better for the environment! http://www.theblaze.com/stories/uniform-of-progres s-levis-now-advocates-freezing-your-jeans-to-save- water/ Let me know how it works out for ya! |

Sifo - I've not frozen my jeans, but I have a pair that I wear about 3-4 times a week that I started wearing on Black Friday and have yet to wash. I febreeze every three days Air them out if not wearing them I lint roll them every couple days. No visible dirt No odor Its odd as crap, but neat to see how much water is wasted when washing after every wear. as for the original post - HIPSTERS. I cant stand them. |

Works great. I don't wear jeans, but as of late my shoes were stinking, so I've been putting them in the freezer overnight and it does the trick. |

We have a dryer with "steam" function, works fine to avoid the accelerated wearing out of clothes by washing and drying. I'll try the freezer, next. |

wow the comments on that link were.... interesting. Who knew that Levi was a socialist commie pinko organization. They apparently want us all gay and living in hippy communes. I think that I will try the freezing method. Not to save water but to avoid washing my jeans. I really like my jeans and I don't want to wear them out or change the fit by washing them too much. I've gone about 3-4 months on my new pair with just airing them out after each wear. Of course my work pants are a different story. Those get washed every 1-2 times i wear them. |

Who the heck automatically washes clothes after just one wearing? Killing bacteria? I wash clothes when they start to look grubby, bug- or mud-splattered, grimy, which happens long before they ever start to stink. I guess if you never rest your hands on your lap or put your hands in pockets, or ride a motorcycle, or mow lawn, or do any cooking, or have a dog that likes to play, or have guns to clean, or a yard or garden to tend, vehicles to maintain, jeans might stay clean. Levi's are "Progressive"? Good to know. Wrangler for me! They're better more comfortable jeans anyway. Fancy jeans? WTF is wrong with some "men" and their goofed-up priorities in life? They probably wear jewelry too. "Look at me! I'm decorating myself!" Dude. |

I wash after every wearing. I have enough cards stacked against me, I don't need to add stinky clothes into the mix. |

Blake, not sure about some of your Levis/jeans, the ones I wear are very basic, 514. I know many that wear things only once and then wash it, and I agree, its silly and wastefull. And I also agree with you Blake that I usually only wash pants/shirts after one wear if on a motorcycle, it really stinks them up quickly (of course this is different if im on a motorcycle weekend away from home) |

I might be wrong but freezing doesnt kill bacteria it just slows down the rate of reproduction. Wouldn't be any need to cook food after thawing if all the bacteria were dead, right? |

Ferris I believe you are correct, but either way my shoes don't stink anymore, so it does the trick. |

Prison Blues. http://oce.oregon.gov/products/112 As I wear my Levis out, they are going to the trash.
quote:Your purchase of Prison Blues© products is not only a sound business decision; it is an investment in common sense. You help support a program that teaches inmates the valuable working skills they need to become contributing members of society. In 1997, voters in Oregon passed legislation that all inmates in the state of Oregon must be employed…It’s the Law.
There's no reason to wash your work clothes until they're offending your neighbors. Socks and undies are a different story. Prison Blues supports a good program in the Ohio State Penitentary. I'd rather support prison rehabilitation than Haiti, Mexico, Egypt by buying Levis... but that's just me |

All the Wrangler Western brand of jeans are made in America. Not sure if they are 100%, meaning fabric and assembly like the Texas Jeans. |

I've bought my past few pairs of Jeans at Cabela's, their house brand. Their denim seems heavier than other brands including Levi's. Still comfortable, just longer lasting and cheaper. Their sizing is a bit different though. They have me being shorter and fatter than other brands. I was able to get 5,000 rounds of ammo on sale at the same time though!
